    I've heard people saying that but I have seen nothing official. I mean, early 2022 seems like the commonsense guess but who knows?

    I believe it's got everything to do with the whole Pandemic-situation... things have been on hold for a while.

    They've just gone, or are about to go into production on BoBF and because it's the same team doing it, production of Mando S3 will not start untill after BoBF S1is in the can! And because these series now have the production-value of Motion Pictures, it can take up to a year to finish the SFX on them, so that checks out! Sorry... :(

    I would have a guess of about a year but I don’t think there has been anything official on the exact timeline for the series apart from it starting about 4 Years ABY.

    Yes. I do believe Favreau stated that they will not begin production on season 3 until The Book of Boba Fett wraps which pushes it way back.

    I thought that was just the filming so they are working on all the pre production stuff for The Mandalorian S3 while they are filming BOBF & then they can move straight on to filming The Mandalorian S3 when that wrap on BOBF. So they may be a delay but hopefully it won’t be too long say either late December early January.

    Call me slightly cyncial, but TBoBF landing in Oct/Nov '21 and running into Dec makes sense as it lures all the US D+ subscribers into annual renewal based on when the service launched. With Mando s3 shooting straight off back of the Fett show, it lands in Q1 2022 and gives the House of Mouse the same renewal bait for the European and Asian markets just as they hit the end of their second year.

    If I recall correctly, Phasma's armour is from a Nubian vessel (like Padme's). But there are certainly a lot of similarities between Mando and Phasma with the shiny armour and spears.

    As I understand it, BoBF will come to D+ in december 2021 and Mando S3 will follow somewhere in the first half of 2022 (yet to be determined)...

    My tree and other decorations still stand (gonna milk the heck out of this Christmas-season!!! :D), so I say: Bring it!! :p

    An anecdotal aside: My sister (not a huge SW fan, but grew up around the OT) texted me last night to tell me she was watching The Mandalorian. Her quote: "I'm really liking this... it's addictive." She had a couple questions about if the Mandos are neutral in the larger Rebels vs. Empire arc, so I had to explain that a bit. But I found it cool that someone who has really not followed SW in recent years just jumped in and enjoyed it. In fact, she binge-watched both seasons in one night.

    Oh, she made another funny comment: "Stormtroopers need beskar. Just saying!" Haha!

    Had a Mando Season 2 marathon to ring in the new year. Two takeaways:

    (1) I actually cried seeing the Crest again in good shape and the little family just chillin' in it... :(

    (2) Mando is so often framed as alone. (No wonder he fell so hard for that kid.) Even when he's making friends and meeting his old ones, he's still portrayed as somewhat aloof. Some of that, of course, is the ol' "lone gunslinger" trope the show has been living on, but it's also part of the armor--or more specifically, part of the double-edged sword of wearing the helmet. It keeps him from harm, but it keeps him from connecting to other people on a deeper level too. The very last shot of him in the season is a good indicator: Din is central, but there is no one close to him. There's a close-up shot of Cara, but even Din's best bud is not physically near him.

    It will be interesting to see what happens with relationships in season 3 in regards to Din keeping his helmet on or taking it off.
