This show is my favorite Star Wars ever made. I’m hooked and complete in love with it. It’s exactly what I’ve always wanted from the Star Wars universe. The TV format seems to fit better for telling a Star Wars story.

I didn't really care for the direction of episode as much as most seem to, but I did like the writing.

The beginning was terrible with the exposed asset just casually strolling into town. Ridiculous. They started that in the last episode; leaving the asset too exposed in some situations like it's a casual thing. That's a missed opportunity.

The drop off was pretty good and the buildup afterwards was nice. It did seem like a really small place and I wondered how is he supposed to sneak around? The fight inside with the stormtroopers was good. I'm glad the doctor didn't tag along.

The enclave scene didn't have the weight of the first episode for me. I'd like to see it presented in different ways, not the same every time. The dialogue was good. I really like the one-liners they are coming up with in this show. The armor improvements are looking great.

The last shoot-out and the end were thick with cheese, but was kinda fun to watch, I guess. The elements were there and I guess I was supposed to feel something. I think these type of scenes were done better in Clone Wars and Rebels. This felt clunky.

2.5 for direction and 4 for story.

That is how I took it, as a jab. The client could have been involved in the purge, but I think the comment he made was intended as an insult.

So good! I would gladly pay $99.99 to have access to all episodes at once.

I understand why some have posted their displeasure with the asset being so exposed, but I think, based on the exchange between IG-11 and Mando in episode 1, once the bounty is in possession, then members of the guild can no

What if the Client is a disgraced Mandalorian who “took of his helemt” to save his hide during the Great Purge? It woukd explain why he has so much Beskar, eapecially Imperial stamped Beskar because he sold out to the Empire.

The whistling birds in my opinion seem to be inspired by Yondu's Yaka Arrow.

Have to say that is very hopeful. I dont know what the Hutts, Krayt Dragon etc mean for locals and landscape. I am very excited for Ewan return, but least excited about Obi-Wan show compared to anything else. Just dont think they have much creative freedom.

If Mando had been set earlier in the timeline, a cross over between this show and Kenobi could have happened. Mando could have sought to disappear in the Dune Sea with Babyoda, and there Kenobi encounters them and trains Mando in the Force:

    Hi All,

I am new here, just made my account, but I am not a new Start Wars fan :)

Just wander is someone managed to identify this awesome heavy blaster ( did Lucasfilm gave the official name already? ) ?

I will be the first to 3D print it once the model is available! That's really nice looking and realistic prop, congratulations Lucasfilm (Disney)!

Added the other side view. fixed 3 barrel (not rotating) heavy blaster with armored semi-flexible power conduit to the backpack, the power source and cooling is probably located in the backpack. I cannot find any reference to this weapon so far.

    Cheers,
    Marko

I don't know if anything can ever challenge the lightsaber as coolest weapon in Star Wars, but the Mandalorian's rifle has made the conversation interesting. Seeing someone disintegrated sure has a way of frightening people that a normal blast doesn't. Now we find out it works with the helmet to hear through walls from a distance and see a infrared heat signature. I wonder what else it does.

Totally agree! No wonder it was banned by the imperial authorities :) ( and probably also before them by the Galactic Republic ). A very much barbarian weapon!

I have a mild complaint about the fight scene at the end, here a few things I noted:

    1. Most of bounty hunters seek no cover, they just stay in the middle of the street and shoot. Sure enough these are experienced fighters, if they engage each time this way they would not survive to drink Yale in the Cantina. More realistic will be if they all run to find some cover and bombard him from there.

    2. The mandalorian is having a few grenades on the belt. One was used to breach the wall of the imperial remnants compound. His enemies would not use a grenade because they will kill also the package, but he can use a couple of grenades to shutter them, especially when they come so close to him.

    3. Flying mandalorians land on the street. Landing most of the them on the rooftops around makes much more sense because they will have tactical advantage. Or using the small streets around the street in order to come in the back and surround the enemy while using some cover as well.

    4. No single mandalorian gets hit by a blaster bolt. Common guys, just a random shot at least to hit one of them. Just to see some sparks flying :)

    5. Stormtroopers seems to be absolutely inefficient. Just one of them managed to hit the target and it was quite off any vital organs. Well ... these are the same stormtroopers that had trainings worth thousands of credits and who spent years fighting for the Emperor?

    6. No one (except the mandalorian, who did it because he had no time to draw the pistol) used a stun gun to stun the target. All of them shoot to kill, so much dangerous for the mandalorian and the package. I can assume that they want to kill the mandalorian, but the package is so much valuable to them.

    7. Attach a tracking device to his ship?

    8. The mandalorian uses his flamethrower to keep his enemies away. Not so bad but completely useless, he should know that the only way to survive is to kill them all. Or at least scare them so much that they all run from there. The rifle was well used for that.

    9. In general - a lot of sparks and small explosions. That's a positive of course.
    --- Double Post Merged, Nov 24, 2019 ---
We saw already that he used is as a range finder/binocular and as a stun gun.

Hi Marko and welcome to the Cantina! :)

This is probably not going to help you much but Hasbro have released what they call "A Heavy Infantry Mandalorian" figure with this blaster (he's apparently called Paz Viszla in the series?). Maybe you can make out some more details from it...

    Hi Mythos,

Thanks a lot for the pictures and for the welcome! I know about the Hasbro "Heavy Infantry Mandalorian", didn't had those pictures yet, and it is not yet available in Europe, I saw it in some German online shops for 44 euro ( OMG!!! ). It seems that the figure is missing some of the fine detail you can find in the screenshots from the movie, as example the inner springs. I hope that the back of the package will contain some details, as example the name of the heavy blaster. I see now that there is an attachment to the left hand, I guess grenade launcher or the equivalent. It was not very clear in the movie scene is that a handle for the blaster or something else because it is very dark. Glad that you posted those pictures.

    Cheers,
    Marko

Here the mandalorian rifle scope screenshot in IR mode. The left bar (green background with white numbers) seems to be range, maybe not in meters as across the street cannot be 500 meters. The bottom bar, semi transparent with red numbers, seems to be related to IR, it is not related to magnification or range. The right bar which looks like curved progress indicators in red is not related to range or magnification, it seems to be in the same position in the first 3 series. Same applies to the red status/mode indicators on the top.

Interesting indeed the IR profile of The Client and Dr. Pershing is totally different. Seems that the Client is wearing a full body armor. What do you think?

I agree. Lightsaber will always be king of weapons. But Mando’s Pulse Disrupter rifle is the next best thing. I remember using a disrupter in “Shadows of the Empire” (N64) as Dash Rendar. It is cool to see a similiar weapon that can cause some much devestation to an wnemy.

The big guy is Paz Vizla ( not the same Vizsla, but could be a misspelling, we can call him Papa Bear ;) ) , the voice belongs to The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau, the play in the armor is performed by Tait Fletcher, the real-life MMA fighter and John Wick villain who played also the bearded Canting tough guy in the opening scene of Chapter One.
