But Vader and The Emperor has this conversation, so is the moon actually Endor or not?

    Darth Vader:
A small rebel force has penetrated the shield and landed on Endor.

    The Emperor:
    Yes, I know.

    Darth Vader:
    My son is with them.

I’m loving that Terrio has seemingly encouraged JJ to go big and ambitious with IX and tie everything up.

I was hoping for Sidious return. Also a new threat from the Beyond making Kylo Ren vulnerable in the form of Sidious makes redemption more possible.

Assuming Kylo is flying the TIE at the beginning, is Rey meeting him at a rendezvous point to hitch a lift somewhere?

Obviously a lift that requires an ignited lightsabre.

Also she doesn't really look to scared or fearful.

This teaser evoked the same feelings like the april teaser for TFA. Goosebumps all the way.

That guy that Kylo knocks down in the trailer, I think that he really might be one of the Knights of Ren.
He has no gun, instead he holds some kind of staff, just like Rey on Jakku.

Have you noticed how all of the scenes from the teaser look and feel massive?
It's a total opposite from TLJ which, in my opinion, really looked 'small' and contained.

I wish Daisy Ridley hadn't gone and spoiled the fact that Anakin's lightsaber had been repaired because it would've been awesome for the trailer to start and then "bam, lightsaber money shot" without anybody being aware of what the status of Rey's arsenal in the film was going to be.

But it was Palpatine plan all along to learn to become immortal. Perhaps the Skywalkers stop him?

The Rise of Skywalker really makes me think Anakins force ghost is going to return and do something really important. I dont think the title references Luke because he literally just died, so why would it be such a triumphant rise?

Perhaps Anakin disappeared for a while and maybe hasn't even contacted Luke since the end of ROTJ. Maybe Anakin went on some long trippy search as a force ghost to discover some answers and he is returning to help set the galaxy back on track to peace.

I just expect Anakin is going to play a vital part in saving the day with the Resistance somehow at some pivotal moment. That's what the title makes me think.

    It's entirely possible. But...
There is another chance or at least something that may make this process less obvious until the very end.
Because, if Kylo/Ben did what he did, because he wanted to rule the galaxy himself, then Sidius can be his opponent
not because he's evel and Kylo/Ben has suddenly turned to the light, but just because they have the same goal.

And that of course only if Sheev's presence in the movie is more than an hologram or something of this sort...

That's a chance. Or something under those lines, surely.
But, like I said a while ago:

-ep. III ends with the notion that Qui Gon has found a way to comunicate from another dimension. However he's not a force ghost.
We don't see nor we hear him.
    - ep. VI ends with the 3 force ghosts.

It's a path. And the next step along that path, if they want to follow that path with p. IX, can only be an actual coming back in flesh and bones.
If so, I personally think that having the CO doing so, it's the more fitting soltion storywise.

Madine twice calls it the forest Moon of Endor. The Emperor says to move the Imperial fleet to the far side of Endor, which would be an odd place to hid the fleet if it was just behind the moon. In the same conversation you quote above, the Emperor calls it the “Sanctuary Moon.”

My thought: I first thought that the first two or three giggles were Snoke, then blended in with Palpatine. But upon further listening....I think it's just Palpatine. Yeah. It's Palpatine. The Emperor. The guy who became The Emperor. Look, I shouldn't have to explain this to you guys....it's the Emperor. Palpatine. Dark robes? Remember? It's Palpatine! Surely y'all all remember Palpatine?! It's Palpatine. Palpatine!

Anyone have any thoughts on what Leia's fate will be? I think she probably lives and I think Lando does too.

Whatever planets or system(s) Lando must have control of in the Outer Rim(I assume), must be defended pretty well and I'm sure he has powerful factions he is allied with.

Lando and whoever the other allies are obviously going to bring their fleets and soldiers, but with Lando back as a leader (I guess he will be General rank like before) that will surely bring a boost to the Resistance and its allies that will be needed.

Lando helping command should relieve some of the weight Leia is carrying as a leader, especially now that Ackbar and Holdo are gone.

So excited to see Billy Dee William's reprising Lando. The clip of him zooming through hyperspace was so cool with that big smile. Seems like Lando is gonna be super helpful in the fight.

Palpatine was moving the Imperial fleet to the far side of Endor (the moon) so that it would not be visible to the attacking Rebel ships and could ambush them, trapping them between itself and the Death Star.

And it's called he "sanctuary moon" because it is providing "sanctuary" to the 'unfinished' Death Star.

yes, i know. My point was that it makes more sense to hide the fleet behind the planet rather than the moon, thus, "... far side of Endor," would be referring to the planet rather than the moon. I mentioned sanctuary moon because the Emperor says it in the same conversation that Vader calls the moon "Endor." Why wouldn't the Emperor just call it Endor? It seems the moon has no name and Vader's line was a mistake.

There had to have been a "planet Endor" at some point in the past, but it is no longer there by the time the Emperor chooses to build the Second Death Star.

I’m very much enjoying the conversations about pegging down whether or not “Endor has oceans” ... Or -wait- is it the forest moon of Endor? Does it have to be an actual ocean? Would a big lake do? Hold on- is Endor the moon, the planet, or the system? I don’t say this mockingly, I say it empathetically- I’m wondering the same things.

I suspect there isn’t a solid answer, but that we may get one.

As I understand, the references vary and are sometimes contradictory- there’s also a reference to the planet ‘Tana’, a gas giant (of which the forest moon is/was a satellite of) ...but Tana is sometimes apparently referred to as Endor as well. One reference stated that Tana itself was destroyed. (?)

It sure sounds like there have been some reference and dialogue goofs (inconsistencies) within the films/legends. —Which most of us are happily accustomed to shrugging off with a smile. —Nonetheless, I certainly relish the discussion. It’s fun. —It’s why I’m here.

Maybe someone should ask Pablo Hidalgo on Twitter. He’s pretty good at straightening that stuff out. ;)

A few things. I think we all need to agree to disagree on whether RJ is still going to do his trilogy. As of now, everyone involved is saying that he is still going to do it. Can that change, of course it can and it might at some point in the future. However, saying that it is not going to happen is just conjecture at this point and that is ok. However at this point in time and moving forward everything currently points to it happening. Until RJ or Lucasfilm say different then that is the case. Let’s get back to talking about TROS

As far as Rey’s saber goes, I am not convinced that she will not end up with a different saber. When asked on the panel, Daisy was very careful with her answer. She only states that the Skywalker saber will return. She left door open for Rey to have another one at some point in the movie
