Maybe that wasn’t Kylo repairing the mask. Could be that Vader has a new fanboy.

 

Or someone in the movie is giving someone else a "Great Post"..?

The title is probably the death knell for Rey Skywalker theories, but I suspect many with chase that idea anyway. A reveal like that wouldn't be given in a title. The obvious choice is Luke, but if Palpatine is back then it would be very, very surprising if Anakin doesn't have some role to play as well. Hopefully whatever call backs they do here it's done at the end of the film. I'm really looking forward to a film that showcases Poe, Finn, Rey, and Kylo. This is their saga so they should be at the center of it.

Overall JJ knows how to cut a trailer and I suspect this is going to be a crowd pleaser.

Rise of Skywalker is a reference to the Reylo force baby.

 

See the thing about this is that from every shot in the trailer and in the photos R2 is missing.

Given we’ve been told C3PO and R2 are featured more in this film they must be holding something back for a reason.

Obviously R2 is more connected to Luke

Could be well off with this, but I’m getting a feeling there’s a reason why he’s not really seen in the ‘group’ shots or any of the photos today (and almost a sidenote in today’s panel) as they definitely are holding something back, especially as BB8 and C3PO look to have a brand new droid ‘companion’.

Could R2’s role be a major, major spoiler?

Now that Palpy is back, does anyone care about Snoke anymore?

 

I got all three trilogy vibes from this trailer.

Speculation is that it is a KoR. I don't know if I agree with that (i.e. the one being choke slammed). I would think it's possible that it's not Kylo for whom the mask is being repaired, but some of the banner art that shows Rey, Finn, Poe et al, also shows what appears to be Kylo wearing the reassembled mask.

 

All that unused footage that leads up to the inexplicable Rey/Leia hug in TFA has now been used. So the question is: What set of facts would lead to the Rey/ Leia hug making sense?

 

It makes him more interesting for me

I have to say that I am just blown away by this teaser. While I enjoyed TLJ, it has not aged well for me and been as satisfying over time as I hoped it would be due to all the unanswered questions raised in TFA. Now, I cannot decide if this teaser has provided me hope that some of those questions (i.e., what or who was Snoke, Rey's parentage, the role of the Knights of Ren in Kylo's fall and/or rise to power, etc.) will be answered in IX... or if I really don't care too much what those answers are! I think at the end of the day I want those answers, but if I don't get them, this teaser has given me hope that JJ can tie it all together in a satisfying way with the return or involvement of Palps!

My take on the title..... The Jedi were faulty. Luke (and Yoda agreed) the Jedi must end. The new generation of force users that will be trained (maybe by Rey) will be called Skywalker's, not Jedi, in honer of Luke and his sacrifice.
