I know. I've said this many times they can't make them happy. If it's like the OT it gets complaints. If it's new, it's not like Star Wars or the OT and gets complaints. Since each one is writing their own story to each episode. Gets complaints. Female lead gets complaints. It's not the EU, not yellow lightsabers, not doublebladed sabers, and so on.

If RJ makes the best Star Wars movie any of us have ever seen... he probably wont come back and make more because of childish idiots that have potentially soured this experience for him.

These guys always stand up at the conventions and say that Star Wars fans are the best. they aren't i'm ashamed to say.

 

I think if we all have twitter, we should send Rian Johnson some positive vibes, so he doesn't get discouraged and burnt out. I just sent him a good tweet letting him know we're all rooting for him.

 

I haven't seen Looper yet, but after seeing Brick and Brothers Bloom, I have no worries whatsoever that this will be a fantastic film - perhaps the best SW movie of them all. I am not worried that it will be a plot-point rehash of the OT. That just does not seem like RJ's style. That they are doing the PT story "on the fly" is no issue. That is how they have always done the SW films.

Relax worry-warts - just look forward to a great SW film this December.

So he works for The Rebel? That was a show started by a conservative Canadian(s). I'm not sure if it's still based there.

 

So I finally saw Looper last night. It was really good. I had inferred that most viewers(particularly those on this site) consider it to be Rian Johnson's "Fifth Symphony". Again, I think it is really good, bordering on great. But I think The Brothers Bloom is his best work.

So after seeing his 3 biggest films to date, I can't help but think we might get some really fringe SW material in TLJ. Keeping inside the lines seems like something RJ is not capable of. If he takes the ST into seriously waaayyyy left-field territory, will SW purists be all up in arms? I wonder .....

 

I can hear the SW Purists now!

Based on recent events and rumors, if RJ took it to far into left field territory he would be out of a job. I'm sure it is going to be different but it will still be reverent to what SW is.
