The Sith are extinct in TFA, does that make anyone else sad?

Would you like to see the Sith eventually return to Star Wars whether original or a new order?

I like the fact that they are being confronted by a new enemy. We know what to expect of the Sith, but we don't know what to expect from The First Order, Snoke, Kylo and the Knights of Ren, this makes them more dangerous. Anakin destroyed the Sith and fulfilled his destiny. Also, the rule of two was stupid and dull writing. Perhaps the Knights of Ren might actually be older. Everything we know about the EU and its timeline is being re-written. We don't know the exact history of the sith.

What is the difference between the dark side and being a sith? I dont get it. Kylo Ren has a red lightsaber, has some humanity in him like Darth Vader. how is Kylo Ren not a Sith? I know Abrams wants to stay away from the prequels but the Sith have been around since the creation of Star Wars.

By trying to distinguish itself from the Sith, it ultimately becomes overly complicated and kind of silly. Know what I mean, anyone, anyone?

The Sith are not representative of the Dark Side, just like the Jedi are not totally representative of the Light Side.
The Sith are a specific religious order that practice the ways of the dark Side, but that doesn't make everyone who uses it a Sith.
All Sith are Darksiders but not all Darksiders are Sith.
There are other orders that we see throughout the stories- the main one being the Nightsisters of Dathomir, an order of witches that tap into a version of the Force, mostly the Dark Side, but they themselves are not Sith.
Kylo is not a Sith because the Sith are dead, their order is extinct and their teachings gone from the galaxy.

A little, I guess. But the prophecy was fulfilled, so I don't want to see the Sith return post-ROTJ.

I miss the Sith! The Sith are awesome! I have grown up loving the villainous Darth Vader, and everything about him. I hate it that the Sith are no more.

That said, I do like that the new canon is exploring more interpretations of the Force than just the Jedi and the Sith. But I do still miss the Sith and want them back.

After the sequel trilogy is over (or after EP X-XII), I would love to see a full trilogy that explores the rise of the Sith. Show the ancient Jedi order, one Jedi turning inward and being seduced by the Dark Side, then him creating a legion of Sith that goes to war with the Jedi! (I don't know what the Legends story is, but I think it goes something like that.) That would be really great!

And while we are on the subject, I have always hated the idea of the prophecy and the "chosen one". This is so trite, cliche and hackneyed, I just can't stand it. I think it was utterly unneeded and useless in the SW saga. I also think it is very unclear exactly what the prophecy was. As far as I can tell from the PT, the prophecy was that the chosen one would bring balance to the Force, not that he would destroy the Sith. These are two very different things. Where is the balance if you kill the dark side and only leave the light? That is not balance, it is one-sidedness.

Because the sith is an order just like the jedi but they only thnk inwards and are selfish...however they are now extinct, and kylo seems like a sith because he is vader obsssed and models himself after him

The Sith was a concept first introduced by the prequels. I have no attachement to the 'sith'. I always imagined Vader and Palpatine as Dark Jedi of which there might be more. The introduction of the Knights of Ren feels liberating to me.

the original goal of the sith....and of all dark siders is to gain godhood. Rian johnsn talked about "sith ghosts" who served someone who was "the source of the dark side".....what if they recycle that idea in some form?

Sith are gone, but dark side users are going to return in the future, I'm sure. Kylo can't be the last antogonist.

That would' ve been interessting imo. I'm afraid though that they blew their chances to bring back the sith now, that ep VIII had little to no mention of them.
I doubt they'd do any radical turn in ep IX, unless they are preparing it for a new trilogy...
Leaving no mention of them in ep IX then bringing them back in ep X-XII would be extremely cheap and lame imo.

*the Sith are bad. The Dark Side =/= The Sith. There is nothing inherently evil about the force. Don't listen to the Jedi, they got wiped out twice, what does that tell you about their judgement?

No I don't miss the Sith, they were power hungry maniacs who attempted to use the dark side to reach their idiotic goals and got extinct in the process. It would be boring to see that all over again.

the dark side should not be inherently evil and the drk siders should have multiple goals and beliefs...the knights of ren should worship and respect the dark side as opposed to the sith who saw it as a mere tool
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 5, 2018, Original Post Date: Jan 5, 2018 ---
disagree....maybe snoke was a rich kid who had too much time on his hands and the sith spirits("those who came before" from the mortis deleted scene) trained him on behalf of their master....a fallen whill(the one who is the source of the dark side). this fallen whill wanted kylo ren as his high priest and he himself as a god king. the sith spirits can be like wraiths from lord of the rings. the hobbit movies were awful but this is what i think

this is how the sith ghost who serves this fallen whill should be like....bane and his evil friends

how the fallen whill himself should be portrayed....imagine force ghost(or ascended in corporal form) luke as gandalf fighting the source of the dark side himself.....and getting his ass handed to him. Now imagine that scene being the opening scene of episode X, holy blast we would all blast ourselves.

a fallen whill is the ultimate frontier

Kinda bumbed out but theres always The Old Republic to keep me interested.

With the story that I am writing (for fun though), allows me to explore the aspects of the force going back to the ancient times. The Nightsisters of Dathomir will feature in the story somewhere while the Mandalorians will be the main focus throughout. Im curious how it will turn out in terms of direction but with the Shan Bloodline and other Houses/ Clans of Mandalore like Kryze, Vizla and Itera to name a few....in a mix of everything...damn I'm excited to keep going with the inspiration that helps a long ways.

The Sith always have been interesting to me moreso going back to the Old Republic era and I can say the same regarding the Jedi during the ancient times. I never liked the idea of the rule of two.

No, because it's time for new threats for the GFFA to face.
However, the Sith's legacy stills lives on through Kylo Ren and others.

Honestly, while I would love the Sith to return, I feel as if the new trilogy is already too similar to the OT.

I keep hearing that the Sith and Jedi are going to end or have already done so, when honestly, I see no proof of these claims in the movies whatsoever. Nothing has changed.
JJ says the Sith are extinct, when that is obviously not true. If it is, then what seperates Snoke and Kylo frrom Siths? What seperates Rey from a Jedi???
    Nothing.
Its still the same. They havn't backed up their apparent claims. At leat not yet.
