I believe the term (if I understood the guy on the corner correctly) is "distribution"

Doesn't matter. Disney isn't making Star Wars they will be distributing it like the Marvel films.

Yes that's the word. Thank you.

Don't kid yourself. Disney is making Star Wars just lIke they make marvel. They paid more than $1,000,000,000.00 that's billion dollars for Lucas. It is naive to say they aren't making this movie.

Was Disney's logo at the beginning of the Marvel films? Nope. Marvel Studios was. Disney's logo was in the credits near the end.
Will it be at the beginning of the Star Wars movies? Probably not. LucasFilm will be and also Bad Robot. Like the Marvel movies, Disney's logo will only appear in the credits.

First of all, they paid $4 billion

Second, if they are smart, they will do what they did with Marvel... i.e. hand over piles of cash so movies can be made, stay the hell out of the decision making process, and market the hell out them

Exactly. I believe everyone knows the trainwreck of the movie John Carter. I thought it was good but apparently it sucked because of Disney being at the forefront. Same with the Lone Ranger. Great idea but not as good as it could have been because Disney themselves was holding the reins.

I would agree but they havent stayed out of marvel. Name a great marvel movie before iron man. x-men and Spider-Man don't count. They were made by Sony and 20th century fox not by marvel. Disney is over seeing this movie you can be assured. They over see the marvel movies as well. Disney is all up in this you can be sure.

I meant to put a 4 on the billion. Lol.

Kathleen Kennedy is overseeing this movie... and the only reason any of us have any faith in it is because KK is overseeing this movie...

[EDIT: Not for nothin... I just posted a link to this comment on LucasFilm's FaceBook...]

Anywhere in the credits of any Marvel movie made after the Disney sale, did you see a Disney person's name in the credits? Bob Iger maybe, just because he is the head honcho at Disney but they only thing he would have done is watch the final product and give it a thumbs up.

I don't care if you don't see a Disney logo they still are in control and have a huge stake in Star Wars and Marvel as they paid a butt load of money for each of them. It makes business sense for them to be in control. If TFA turns out to be anything like TPM we fans will be less likely to care about Ep VIII and much less likely to shell out our hard earned cash to see it. Yes in KK we trust but don't think Disney is not looking over her shoulder at every turn, their investment is to large for them not to be and lots rides on this movie. Further, Disney makes good moves, yes they have flops but so do all studios. Name a studio that hasn't produced a flop.

Back to my point. It doesn't matter who made Guardians the plot of space pirates coming to save the day was just on screen in a movie that is a lot like a Star Wars movie. That was my original point and it doesn't change just because we want to argue about how much input Disney has. I really hope we don't see this as a major plot point of the movie.

I doubt the space pirates will be a central part of the story.

Disney won't make dumb decisions, too many talented people are working on this, too much money is tied up. If disney fails, then there will be one hell of a yeah plinkett review (which I will be watching). Stay calm and wait for it.

Didn't you sail off into the west to die? Got bored of counting your fingers? Not exactly a ten anymore is it?

These guys seem like they will fill the Bounty Hunter part of the story for this trilogy, but this time they are on the good side.
