    The base was built inside a Massassii temple... the EU always had Luke returning there to set up the new Jedi academy... perhaps the Castle is part of the temple... just a different part than the hanger area

    It is certainly possible the builders of the Yavin IV temple also erected other structures across the galaxy. Hmmm.

    To the admin who just merged these threads... they are different threads...

    The pirate descriptions from yesterday seems to be a band of scavengers on the Ridley's homeworld...

    The Pirate Cove description seems to be a rebel styled base in the ruins that were used during ANH

    They are separate concept sets describing separate scenes that appear to be totally unrelated. I had them separate because there will be enough confusion with them both being referred to as "pirate" as it is... together, its gonna get real confusing as to which is which...

    Although, you are the admin... I humbly think they should be separate though...

    I am answering you over here, because this seems to be the combined thread for all things pirate... and well... this is a pirate base thing...

    As near as I can tell, and I think Jason agrees from his descriptions, the Greenham set is the exterior of the Pirate Cove, and it is the same... I think...and to make it more complicated, this may also be on the same planet as the Castle, which means Greenham Commons and Skellig Michael are both Yavin and the snowy planet... all together now...

    It's gonna get confusing with this exterior and that interior and these pirates and those pirates... and I honestly think that some of it is intentional, and JJ is reading all this and laughing his damn fool head off...

    If you're confused, you wont be after this week's episode of SOAP

    It's the combination of concept and final art, and having no real idea which is which other than how the set photos look, that makes it all too complicated to make sense of. I was flicking through concept art for Revenge of the Sith and there's enough to create dozens of films and hundreds of plot variations depending on random selections of art. We could even take all the concepts for General Grievous and populate a film with only them because they represent a vast range of ideas.

    These guys from Jabba's Skiff always looked 'space piratey' to me. If they do have space pirates in the movie i hope a few aren't human like these guys.

    Now, I have been one who has kept to the speculation that the desert planet may not be Tatooine... however...

    Say these guys worked for Jabba... and say Jabba died... what would have become of them? Might they not band together and go pirate? And was there not a rumor that Buboicullaar would be in the movie?

    I'll watch Jedi and dig through photos and lets see who was on the Skiff and Barge. we know all of them are dead. Maybe we can figure out a few that might still be alive besides the frog dog.

    Yeah I am wondering if these guys are fellow desert waste riff raff that would work in the settlement that Rey is in, they are all junkers, or they are a swoop-like gang perhaps even that Rey is a member of or local Tatooine militia like Cleeg Lars and his boys riding out looking for the missing Shmi.

    Hey is that Dengar in Jabba's palace? I never knew he had an additional scene in Jedi. I thought his only appearance was on the Executor bridge in Empire

    I would tread lightly here folks as suggested concept art goes in all types of directions to consider what will work in the movie and what won't. Let's not assume these pirates will have a main role and will negatively effect the movie. It is possible that it's some minor part of the plot. Maybe Rey stole something from them and they are after her and once she escapes we see them in maybe one more scene. I'm thinking it's going to be something like that.

    We don't have a lot of info on the pirates but I do have a theory on their part in the movie.

    Maybe the pirates have a Sith artifact that Kylo Ren wants for himself.
