I have the impression we may see a story arc that goes anti-Vader in Episode VII. What if the villain (or a hero/C3PO) is actually a Droid that wants to become human. And collect parts and pieces to humanise itself.

    'We don't serve their kind!'

You've just stated one of the most provocative theories on who or what the potential villain may be. And in only 3 sentences! You're getting a great badge bud.

The human that became more machine than man (vader) flipping to a droid that's becoming more man than machine could work so well. And it's an issue we're facing more and more (drones/robots/automated everything) which can make it even more powerful.

A droid who managed to become a force adept somehow... Via organic transplants... Dunno but it gets the brain spinning.

Could Bane or Plageuis have inhabited a machine body? I think they need flesh though as a host...

P.S. What the hell was Grievous anyway? He had human parts (eyes/brain?) but clearly a droid... Could wield a light saber but was void of force abilities...

That takes artificial intelligence to a new level. Perhaps if it is like a General Grievous character who was once human and is almost completely a machine and wants to look more human again. The human pieces may be from Force adepts and gives him the ability to use the Force. From a Disney POV it reminds me a little of Pinocchio, the puppet who wants to be a real boy.

Yeah it reminds me of the movie A.I. with the Pinocchio theme.

I think I remember reading that Grievous was a cyborg, the alpha version, while Vader was the beta version.

I love the A.I. / Pinocchio parallel... We are looking at some sort of sibling, heir to Skywalker/Palpatine... Maybe it's a new generation of machine that was close to Anakin... At some point (Anakin built C3PO, imagine if he spent time and energies building C3PO 2.0 using The Empire ressources)... That droid being wants to become his maker.

    And thanks my friend :)

This an interesting theory. Perhaps this droid is able to bypass the laws of robotics and go around killing beings by it's own free will and taking their organs to build itself a human or alien body.

And maybe it especially needs/wants the organ(a)s of force adepts, and whatever jedi it could find. Skywalker DNA would be the holy grail...

As twisted and as weird as it sounds, I think if Anakin built another droid it would resemble Padme.

Maybe one of Vader's secret, mourning the lost of Padme and his unborn child, he "constructed" himself a "son". A droid much more advanced than any droid at the time. And Vader's obsession for Luke, his human son, has caused him to abandon the droid. He is now on the loose, trying to understand and wanting to become Luke. And human.

Holy hell, you're on a roll MarsPhoenix! The robo step son trying to avenge his human step dad and, in essence, replace/become Luke is fascinating.

Could also explain why beard/no beard... And how Luke is the villain but is not...

    A Clone/robot Luke theory. It means @Viral Hide/@Kyle & @spectacle are all right!
Luke is the cyborg but he's NOT the cyborg at the same time.

Would Vader make a droid that looks like Luke when he wanted Luke to join him in the first place? After the events of TESB, Vader stops looking for Luke and builds a Mechanized clone of Luke from his hand.

Maybe Vader has became, at some point, obsesed by what Palpatine told him about Plagueis, A Sith so powerful that he could create life... And took a go at it... From his own blood, managed to inject enough humanity in the Droid.

Maybe that "abandoned son" was left incomplete, and somehow with the years "upgraded" himself constantly, becoming more and more like his "father" and "brother".

Maybe Vader hid him, isolated, in his lair, and that's what Kira discovers.

Incoming sororicide... Robo Luke can't find his inferior quasi-step-brother, opting to kill Leia instead... Cliffhanger ending, was it or wasn't it Luke? Audience won't find out until Episode VIII.

Nothing gets you out of hiding like a robot who looks like you killing your sister.

Excellent, MarsPhoenix. I'm loving this theory more and more. Even if it doesnt come to fruition, it's going to be my top fan-theory on Ep VII. Actually it's the kind of story that would link prequels to OT to sequels in the most elegant way.

Even if it's not what takes place in Episode 7, it would make a good EU book.

Someone 'shop a lightsaber onto Pinocchio and steampunk his face a bit, add a metal arm/leg. Put a shadow of Vader/Geppetto in the scene.

I'd totally buy this book. Or animated short on DVD/Bluray/4K whatever (handdrawn to pay homage to Pinnochio).

Also, man this is such a feelgood thread. Group hug!

Seriously though, who is the real Pinnochio among us: Kyle or spectacle?

That could also bridge nicely with Lucas' original idea (Luke sister's discovery).

Replace the original twin sister by Vader's artificial son.
    And The Emperor by Plagueis.

Maybe the grave robber/vader simulacre/Luke-Anakin-droid actually saves the day at the end...

Maybe he sacrifices himself to save Luke or Kira.

Against the real baddies: Plagueis/else and Driver

My point being: maybe he is not totally bad. Obsessed by Luke but serves the purpose ultimately to save him.
