i'm not saying you have to read the book, i'm saying it's in the movie ~ all of it ~ and it's supported by the book (and therefore not an interpretation).
if you choose not to see it, that's okay. but you can't just say it's not in there because you've decided it's not.

there you go then. good luck with it! : D

Maybe. I surely was just asking myself why Yoda was making a sith move with the thunder or how a force ghost can use a stick and hit someone with it so I was out of the movie once again.

Having these two wise flunkers burning a living tree and laughing was highly confusing to me too.

Alive? If a tree has a hole this big inside its trunk, the same trunk was halved and there are no leaves on it, then such a tree is as dead as a doornail.

You're not really meeting us halfway here. You refuse to watch the film (which is fine), but you want to argue against the narrative that's in the film. It's not our responsibility to explain the movie to you. This isn't like 2001 Space Odyssey that it can be explained in multiple ways. Luke was wrong for giving up. Rey's visit helps Luke reconnect to the force. He connects with Leia for the first time in years. That enable Yoda to speak to "Young Skywalker" to set him straight.

You have the ability to discuss this rationally, or you can be like curmudgeon Luke before Yoda hits him with the stick. :)

I do concede I had been narrow minded in these last posts. It doesn't work for me but your explanations are not that bad. I wish it had been more obvious and developed though.

    Thanks for the gifs.

The aparition of Luke...the meeting with Leia...the blink to Cp30...the amazing crescendo soundtrack...the surprise of Kylo seeing Luke...all the dialogue and figth between both...until the final moment that Kylo realises is just a projection...and Luke's death...

All this sequence is probably my favorite momment in the entire saga.

This scene is fantastic! The music, the cinematography, the effect. You can say what you want about TLJ, but this scene is pure perfection.

Daisy Ridley is an underrated aspect of The Last Jedi. She was such a revelation in The Force Awakens her performance in TLJ has been overlooked. She had to sacrifice screen time for Adam Driver's amazing performance, but she really brought it. Rey had to show a lot more range this time.

One underrated aspect I heard about was that the scene with the suits and irons is a reference to a star wars parody made with household products right after ANH was released

I love this scene. Good humor and new in the SW movies.

This is so extremely clever. There are so many awesome little moments in this film.

After watching The Director and the Jedi, I'm amazed at how much work went into the Casino scene.

Also, totally agreed about the dwindling numbers. It's something that never quite sunk in until I watched last week.

Yeah, I was impressed by how many practical effects they're actually were. Even the green milk/creature was practical.

Ach-to has a very special relationship with the Force, like Dagobah. On Dagobah Luke fought with a dark side vision. Those lightsabers clashed. Obi-Wan sat on a log on that planet as a Force Ghost. Yoda being able to manipulate the Force as a Force ghost isn’t that much more of a leap.

I don't think Force ghosts actually need a planet that's strong in the Force. The end of ROTJ all three of them are there. So, they can just show up when ever they want to.

I think he's implying that they might need one for major shows of power, like Yoda with the tree burning

The Canto Bight scent is a lot better on rewatch. First of all, it's not really that long of a scene. The entire set is amazing. It's eye candy. I could understand if the film spent a ton of time there, but it's really just a small part of the film.

Right? I've literally heard people refer to it as a third of the movie.

It's not even well into the film that Finn and Rose leave, and even then a good part of their story takes place away from CB (and those sections are arguably also very enjoyable).
