Very Disappointing. Shows you need Lucas to make Star Wars

Guess a woman not wanting strangers to hold her hand is the equivalent of not wanting to get raped now. Got it.

Not gonna lie, I'd watch that movie. In private. And never speak of it again.

This is the worst post ever. Imagine the outrage from people if, instead of a REAL and gritty lightsaber duel we had him picking up trees and rocks. Hey, I have an idea... Maybe he could have summoned Force-Parkinsons, then Rey and Finn could have just twitched like Katherine Hepburn in a turbulent helicopter ride until they just fell over the edge of the cliff.

Thanks. Now that is all I'll be able to picture when I watch this movie for the second through four-millionth time.

Up until TFA, every good Star Wars movie made was made by George, but not every Star Wars made by George was good (read it again if you need to). But now we have a great Star Wars without George, proving (almost mathematically) that you don't need George to make a good Star Wars.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion of the PT acting. I'm not sayin I'm just sayin
    --- Double Post Merged, Dec 23, 2015 ---
How can you say that it's "not Star Wars" when most people's only complaint (and even you argued that it was unoriginal) is that it is a little too similar to ANH. Make up your mind pal. This self contradicting is the reason I hope to God you are trolling.

This is how I feel about all of the Internet fan base at the moment. It's almost no fun anymore. A lot of people are so negative. Not all. ;)

This thread has taught me that to some people, Star Wars is akin to drug addiction. You're constantly searching for that first high, but you'll never quite reach it, leading to a dangerous spiral of internal angst.

AllHailVader and crew, I highly suggest you seek help at the proposed "Midichlorian Memorial Support Group". It'll help you get through this process. :p

Hey, I thought I would share my thoughts on TFA, I wanted to collate my thoughts and views into one video to put forward my argument, its not perfect and I edited it together a bit brashly but I hope someone finds it interesting.

I am not looking to fight or get attacked these are just my views and haven spoken with friends and read other comments that follow my line of thinking I was encouraged to make this video.

My arguments only start around the 1 minute mark if you wanna skip the start :D

If its something like this im not even willing to watch it

and its not because i dont value opinions different than mine, its because some people are criticizing things that shouldn't be criticized at all.

Hey, I get your concerns but I don't think my video is similar to his, I like to think I put more effort into my analysis and video that make it more interesting, maybe some of the things I criticize you wouldn't agree with, but maybe some you do haha. Not sure.

I agree with a lot of your criticisms to a greater or lesser extent.
But it is still not as bad as the prequels...

This whole thing with people listing similarities between the OT and this movie; when you do actually list them in that way, or write them all down - yes, then it does seem like a very compelling argument. To be honest, though, that is not the feeling I got while I was actually sitting down watching the movie. The experience of the movie is different to simply looking at a list of similarities.
As I've said before - you can do the exact same thing with Terminator and Terminator 2. Yet they are actually very different, and enjoyable, movies with their own merits despite the obvious similarities on paper.
Yeah, Starkiller is silly. There are some flaws throughout the movie. But the performances alone lift it above the prequels, IMHO.

It's gonna be hard to recapture the magic of the OT. For people like me it stands to be the best movies ever created. That means #1 out of millions of movies made. Now I did a search to see how many movies have actually been made but I got lazy and abandoned mission. If someone can find an accurate amount please post it.

So because TFA is Star Wars we hope that it will do the same. Beat out a million others and be reigning champ. Maybe it's time we just accept that the OT was a special thing and nothing can ever come close to it. It's a sad point of view but it's slowly becoming fact.

If we accept that then maybe we'll enjoy future Star Wars films a little more.

You lost me at 'Worse Than the Prequels'.

Fair enough, you might not like TFA. But nothing is worse than the PT.

Before making a claim that TFA is worse than the prequels; please watch RedLetter Media's critique of each of the prequels. Once you get past the over the top character of "Mr Plinkett" and the bizarre humor of these videos, each of them have seriously well-thought out critiques of the overall quality of filmmaking, including characters, plot, acting, pacing, visuals, etc.

Also, making that claim in your topic line is pretty much guaranteed to have a lot of people skip the video entirely.

If you still feel that way after watching those, then to each their own. :D

The PT was bad, yes, but were still some memorable moments, particularly from Ian McDiarmid.

Contrast this to TFA, which has approximately zero memorable scenes. Not one bit of magic in the entire film.

For this reason, among others, I rate it lower than the PT. Yes, even the TPM.
