my problem with Daisy is the character is awesome...its hard for me to rate an actress when they are playing a character who is just presented as so great. I think she did good enough though but great performance slow your roll in my book.

I really enjoyed the movie and looking forward to seeing it again next weekend. I will say that what the movie misses from Lucas is the macro story that sets up the universe. I am no fan of the Prequels (because Anakin and Padme are two of the worst characters in the history of movies), but I love how Lucas set up the universe and how Palpatine rose to power. TFA has the opposite where I thought the macro story was all over the place, but the characters were great and very relatable.

Lucas / PT= Great at storytelling, bad at execution.

    JJ/TFA = So-so storytelling, very good execution.

I perfectly understand you my friend and I share some of your pain. I have been a fan ever sinse I was a child growing up with the OT and I loved the PT just as much but for the first time ever, I saw a SW movie that made me feel so.....empty. Every time a SW movie came out I wanted to see it again and again and just talk about how awesome it was and get the cool figures from the movie but not this time. I really felt that I was in a totally different sci fi world that just happened to have some SW characters as guests. I knew JJ wasn't Lucas, but I never expected his version to be so flawed to a point that I have to say that his Star Trek movies were way better and had more heart than his SW one. :(

Fascinating Dooku...was her accent a bit too posh or was it just me that is not the accent I expect from a girl who grew up a backwater world.

Don't get too confident with the movie getting almost universal praise my friend as this same thing happened to TPM way back when it came out. Fans were just starving for something SW and when the movie was out, fans only complained a little about Jar Jar but couldn't stop praising the movie for all the new wonderful things it had. So many good conversations about how awesome Darth Maul was, how cool the podrace scene was, how the CGI made it posible to make new and fantastic creatures like Watto, Sebulba and the sea monsters from Naboo ect. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things that people talked about regarding TPM and it wasn't till much much later that the hate began yet TFA has only been out for two days and already so many flaws are clearly visible. I can asure you that many PT haters are going to try to defend this movie just for the sake of not accepting that TFA was worst than any of the PT movies they hate so much, yet my opinion is that when the dust finally blows, TFA is going to be considered the worst SW movie ever.

I am not sure Amanaman worst ever I dont think it was that bad plus we still have plenty more coming...but I agree when the hype dies down this movie isnt going to stand up against tight blue ray analysis its easy to look good in a theater but I just dont see the rewatchability of the OT.

My, you guys are a sorry bunch. Isn't there anything else for you to enjoy or are you trying to turn this forum into a place full of miserable sods? Because this is how you do it.

Being a long-time fan and slightly disappointed with the recent usability over at Jedi Council I was very much looking forward to participating here, but this type of stuff should turn a lot of people off. You're not exactly leaving the best impression.
You want more fans to register here? People basking in negativity and insulting each other over liking this or that surely isn't going to be much of an incentive - and if it is, it'll only be to take part in the drama. Some of you people really don't seem to have a sense for what's reasonable discourse and what to better leave unsaid. Is this what you're planning on doing until Rogue One comes along and you get the next thing to be unhappy about? You think that's going to make this place attractive to anybody?

I for one have no interest in getting into a shout-off in every other topic with people that are negative for negativity's sake, into discussions about whether this happens to be the "worst Star Wars ever!!" or if we're all terrible people for liking one movie or the other. No, I'm not looking for a "safe space" or a circle-jerk or nonsense like that. I have negative things to say. But one might expect people to display a bit more reason and thoughtfulness.

The members are what makes a forum, for better or worse. I'd suggest the mods make their presence felt a little more, because if you ask me there's nothing moderate about some members' demeanor here. When even first-time posters can get away with clowning about like that, you have a problem. It's safe to say that people registering here over the next few weeks are going to be those that recently saw the movie and enjoyed it, so you might just wanna make them feel accommodated. "God I hated this; I need to go register at a Star Wars forum" isn't exactly the kind of response you'd expect from a well-adjusted individual and it's not the forum's job to entertain that notion.

I just came back from the cinema and must be honest I feel dpressed , The

darkside finally won. After the falling of the last jedi (Lucas) when he sold

his soul(SW rigths) to the darkempire (Disney), all galaxy citzens are suffering

from this greedy marketing wars that are destroying the true mythologic and

archetipic essence of the saga... Camon guys, that is some plot failures thats

unnaceptable for serious followers, here some of them in my point of view.

    1. To get to be a Jedi/sith is a serious hard thing, is not matter of just wake

the Force like something that just happens and solve all problems... no no

no...The Force is not good or evil, who use its decide. If the force is strong on

you its came from birth (midiclorians levels),you start to developed it when you

are child and get to master it if you have the luck to find a good teacher. So,

how can I accept the fact that Rylo, that supposed to be a jedi trained by Luke

and after empowerd by darkside, be hurted by single chewbacca shot and be hurted

again by ex-stormtrooper(finn) figthing with a ligthsaber(wtf!!!) and finally be

defeated by a untrained girl that suddenly learn by herself how to figth like a

    jedi.

2.So If I understand well after the Endor victory and the destruction of 2nd

deathstar the rebels failed to restore the Republic as the ruling Political

order of the galaxy and not only that, Luke fails to restore the Jedi order ,

Leia and Solo fail in their relationship and failed as well in the rising of

their offspring. So Disney is telling me that after six movies the evil still won

the strife. And this is a shame, yes a shame to see our real hero Luke defeated,

lost and alone in middle of nowhere meanwhile the evil force are killing billions

    by destroying planets and stars.

3.I dont like the Rylo Ren Character. A cryboy, that seems imature and impulsive

and weak. Is that the lord Vader heir?...poor Anakin... poor Luke.

4.Deathstar 3.O?? really they have to repeat this again?, the same damn plot

maked up a little working like a easy formula...ppffff...

5.the sucess of SW saga relay in the ability to translate the archetipic hero

tales of all cultures world wide to scifi cinematographic format. the action

scenes and special effects(thats today are trivial) are secondary. For us (my

generation) SW was THE MYTH, that teach us how dream to be this hero and overcome

all difficuties trusting in justice, braveness and in the of the Force thats is

within all of us.Does Rey fit the paper of this heroin_? I hope so but Im not so

sure, but of one thing I know: Lucas get rich because the movies, but to him the

most important thing was the message.Disney just want your money.

And one last remark, what the hell is Voldermort doing in star wars? and how he

became a sith lord ? ...lol

You think it is worse that TPM? I was referring to the critic scores. TPM was always in the 60%range, even when it was new. This film is 95% with an average rating of 8.2. You are right that fickle fans will often change their minds later and much of the hype is overblown.

This site is normally pretty good. I've been here a year or so and it is usually the most civil and polite forum on the internet. From my narrow vantage point, there are a dozen people or so who were so upset that Finn isn't a Jedi, that they turned that thread into a negative ratings party, downvoting everyone with anything positive to say. After that, more threads were made to dump on the movie and people who enjoyed it. I think I'll take a few weeks break, and hopefully this type of stuff will die down on here.

Perhaps you'd have preferred this style of lightsaber dueling like we got in the PT as well?

Hmm...I admit I have no big love for the PT but I'm starting to re-evaluate my previous points of views. There's PT stuff that's luckily not in TFA but there are visual and epic elements in the PT I have not been able to find in TFA. On the contrary, I wouldn't exclude the possibility that TFA helps people that didn't like the PT to re-adjust their points of views.

Wrong. The initial reviews were mixed at best.

The negative reaction to TPM was immediate and much more pervasive. There is a huge difference in the scales of each side. I will commend though the TPM bashers at least waited till the movie came out.

According to the Star Wars Wookieepedia, the reason Rey outmatched Ren was because of his injuries, so he wasn't at his best. If he was, Rey would've lost her first battle.

Yeah, like how Luke trained under Obi-Wan for 30 minutes, never piloted anything other than a T-16 Skyhopper and then blew up the Death Star.
