Which is precisely why the force chose someone pure of heart like Rey, and by extension Finn. The force knows who will fight for good and will intervene. That is also why all of the coincidental events from ANH lead to Luke. It's all about the force choosing human vessels to step in on it's behalf.

Fast forward to TLJ, and we have Luke TRYING to stay away. Cutting himself off from the force. Believing the galaxy is better off without him. Probably thinking that he made things worse by training Ben Solo and failing. Yet here comes some girl that happen to hook up with the Millennium Falcon, Chewbacca, Han, R2, etc. The force knows who it wants and who will ultimately fight for balance.

This isn't accurate. They are not using Lucas story treatments for the Sequel Trilogy. This info is also readily available doing a google search. Not going to derail the thread with "George said" debate. George is gone. Lets move on.

 

The one thing that annoys me is that the location of Luke's academy is a secret... even to the audience.

Just give us the planet name!

As for your point about Rey and Poe - that is interesting. Yes, in the novel they do meet and there is a hint of awkwardness there. Perhaps a hint at what could come for the characters? I'm not sure. What is it you're suggesting exactly - a romance? Or are we on the Rey Dameron train again?!

The biggest and most obvious problem in TFA was when Artoo suddenly awoke. This made so much more sense in the novel as he is present when Rey talks about the Empire having the other piece of the map. Realising he is of use, he comes back to life and provides the map. In the film, that is all cut and we don't see Rey talk about it. Perhaps you're right and something was left out for a later reveal. I'm not sure. They might just have wanted to avoid putting them together because there is no worthwhile relationship there - and after all, Poe was all set to be killed off early on.

I want it to be Snoke, it looks like Snoke, it would explain why Luke didn't just fly off to kick his ass, maybe he found something more about a "bigger picture"

Once again on my island of one, I don't think that looks like Snoke. Its hard to say. Looks closer to the ancients in the Old republic video game, I forgot what they were called. By any definition, snoke is not a Jedi, not even close.

 

Nobody talked about it? Check the first 4 or 5 pages of this thread, that was one of the main subjects. But you are right, back to what this thread is supposed to be about, the Visual Dictionary...

To me, there are several things going on in the mosaic. There is the figure of someone seated with a high collar, and there is also a face. If you look at the yin/yang circles as eyes, and the center as the crook of a nose, it kind of does look like Someone's (Snoke?) face. Very interested to see how much this mosaic will be addressed in the movie...

 

BTW it is a fantastic book for Christmas kids.

 

I posted this earlier in the thread. I feel like there is definitely going to be some things we saw in Rebels or TCW in this film.
IMO, the Jedi Temple Guards we have seen are modeled after the Prime Jedi in the mosaic.



Even the kneeling stance is a characteristic of these guards. It looks to me like the Jedi in the Mosaic is sitting/kneeling and holding a Saber. The only real difference is the high collar behind the helmet of the image.

 

yeah but the figure in the mosaic looks like he's sitting cross legged
