I don't like the idea of the first Jedi. Why he shows up now, after so many thousands of years? Also - I was thinking knowledge comes in time, not that the first one will be the most powerful and the others to come, with all that wisdom during the years dien't achieve the level of the very first of them?

 

If Snoke were the Prime Jedi then wouldn't he know where the first Jedi Temple was? Why would he need Lor San Tekka's map?
If the Jedi began on Ahch-To wouldn't it be more likely that the Prime Jedi was a native of Ahch-To?
If Snoke were the Prime Jedi then wouldn't the mosaic look like him? (see my post above)
If Snoke were the Prime Jedi then why have his actions so far far only involved the dark side? (corrupting Ben, destroying whole planets, seeking to destroy Luke: none of these shout balance of light and dark to me.)

I don't think Snoke can be the Prime Jedi. He may well have once understood the more ancient philosophy of the Force that Luke has come to accept, but I believe that he, like the Sith (though not a Sith!) has been seduced by the power of the darkside. Palpatine was corrupted by his desire for revenge on the Jedi and lust for power. Anakin was full of fear, mistrust, anger and pride. Snoke's downfall it seems may have been his love of material wealth - all very seven deadly sins-ish.

My theory: The Prime Jedi reached a Buddha-like state of transcendence, he (she?) is no longer corporeal. Kylo and Rey are both incarnations of the Prime Jedi. Kylo is the dark side born out of the light, Rey is the light side born out of the dark.

Spoiler: TLJ mute aliens

VD leak has this tall mute alien species on-board Snoke's supremacy helping FO to navigate ancient hyperspace trails.
VD leak also states that these species have helped fallen Imperial remnants to escape to uncharted regions using their ancient hyperspace trails.
So immediately after the fall of empire, imperial remnants have come in contact with these unknown alien species, so this could be a part of contingency plan embedded my Palpatine instructing remaining imperial elements to flee to unknown regions with the help of these mute alien species.
