It just won't. The right people are involved at the right time with the right ideas and the franchises best interests at heart. If it did hypothetically I couldn't see that being a problem for me given just how much i want to see and love it. Same as with ROTS, it's not a great film with loads of glaring flaws but I absolutely love it because I saw it at 13 and had been waiting my whole life for it, I only see the good parts which i'm sure would be the case with TFA

if MSW's description of the plot is 100% accurate than it will suck.

While I'm sure it won't ever live up to our expectations, and can't possibly, I'm hopeful it will be the 4th best SW movie of them all. If it was only 10 minutes of the OT characters sitting around the Heroes Café like Superman and Batman on the HISHE youtube videos, I would still take it.

Good thing all that MSW stuff is a controlled leak meant to confuse and cloud our minds.

Would MSW version of the movie suck because it truly does suck or because we've been spoiled beyond repair to the point that anything that doesn't live up to the movie in our mind is a complete failure? Isn't this what happened with the PT films? We built them up so much and found out too many spoilers and there it went...I know the prequels had many, many issues to exasperate things but a lot of it was the fact that we built these films up to such a high frenzy, it could never live up to those heights. I'm going into this and the following movies with a little clearer, less fanatic mindset. I love Star Wars, some episodes more than others, but I love them. I hope to love and appreciate what JJ and company can do with this and the next installments but I'm not going to get too crazy if TFA closely resembles the MSW synopsis.

I've been thinking about this recently, about the possible types of gripes some people might have after watching TFA for the 1st time. I've come up with a bullet listing of some of the complaints people might have (based on some of the current rumors/spoilers we've been hearing so far, as well as some guesses):

    1. Han is killed off

    2. Luke hardly appearing in the movie

    3. One of the main characters is black, let alone being a stormtrooper [this one is a bit controversial in pointing out but unfortunately there are people in this world with bigoted thoughts still that I can somewhat see this being a complaint by these folks]. And though not as much as Boyega, I could also see people complaining about Oscar Issac due to his Argentinean heritage (again, by a small subsection of people with racist thoughts)

    4. Less emphasis on the OT characters (note that I'm not necessarily referring to screen time but more so on character focus)

    5. Someone else navigating the MF besides Han

    6. Any possible/slight use of CGI (apparently, these people forgot that it's 2015 now), whether it's a mo-cap character or some stationary object (or background)

    7. BB-8 (some might think it's too cute-sy)

    8. The hilt/crossguard lightsaber

    9. Not enough backstory/explanation on why things are as they presently are

    10. Plot not being very interesting

    11. Movie is too short or too long

    12. Movie feels rushed or feels too slowed down

    13. Not enough use of the Force as far as visuals go.

    14. Rey using her staff more than a lightsaber

    15. The male main character heroes being portrayed as sidekicks rather than one of them being the main heroe

    16. Being very similar to ANH in regards to plot and structure (both in character and sequence of events). Some do not like feeling like they watched something that's "already been done"

    17. Having too different of a feel from the OT

    18. Too much focus on the OT heroes that it detracts from seeing the new characters' development throughout the movie.[this one is highly unlikely]

This is all I can think of off the top of my head for now. Also, note that I'm not saying that these are going to be complaints of mine necessarily; they're just things that I think others might point out in the way that they could be thinking about the movie..

I'm not saying TFA is going to suck, far from it. However, if I do have one concern right now having read that supposed synopsis, it is this: What is the point of the movie? That's what I'm missing.

What I mean by that is in ANH the point of the movie was to get the Death Star plans in the hands of the Rebel Alliance and defeat the Empire. In TPM, the point was to end the Trade Federation's blockade of Naboo. What is the point of getting Luke's lightsaber in the hands of someone else. What are the stakes? Hopefully, they're ANH-high and not TPM-high.

The point of TPM was for our man Palpatine to be elected supreme chancellor.
Don't get to concerned about that synopsis, it obviously misses the most important elements about the plot and either the source or the speculation based on it is mostly wrong.

I see where your going here, but building the movie up too much doesnt explain away how bad that synopsis is.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or confrontational, however I would like to know what you feel makes it bad?

I dont think this will be bad. I will at least rate it 3 out of 5 stars, if its less then 3, then it would be a let down ofcourse. I hope i give it 5/5. JJ is talented, i dont like MI3 at all, but his Star Trek films are really cool.

You just have to read the first part about the lightsaber falling from space and you get a pretty good idea of how bad what follows is.

Well, I agree that falling saber is far out there but I honestly must be missing why a lot of people don't like the synopsis or the movie (if this is accurate). Sorry.

I think it just doesn't feel like there's much at stake, based on the synopisis. But that doesn't mean that's true. If we went based off of synopsis, TESB would probably seem pretty lame:
Empire attacks rebel base. Rebels Flee. Han and Leia spend most of the movie running away from the Empire. Luke Trains with Yoda for a few days. Empire catches Han and Leia. Luke goes to save them. Of course we find out that its all about Vader trying to recruit Luke...which also sounds kinda lame.
As it turns out, its not lame at all and is what most people consider the best movie of the franchise. So even if the synopsis sounds weak, the story, characters, relationships, underlying developments can (and hopefully will) shine through and give us a great Star Wars movie.
