What was Luke thinking when Rey extended his lightsaber

Off Topic but I've been meaning to ask:

Did anyone else in AGFFA ever figure out that 3PO was made by Anakin? I suppose Bail Organa and Obi Wan would/could have known but I don't imagine they would have felt a need to tell anyone else. It added a little depth to his "Thank the maker" lines and I always imagined him fretting about and repeating "Oh dear" anytime he thought of it.

I don't think it should necessarily be resurrected as a theme for the ST, but it was one little tie in that GL did that didn't bother me. I know 3PO had his memory wiped, but it seems like it would be a shame to let that little bit of in-story trivia die.

Imagine if Kylo learned of this from some random holocron recording and sent bounty hunters to retrieve 3PO so he could try to reclaim anything not destroyed by an erased memory. It could actually be a fun little side story.

I suppose the same would go for R2.

People perceived there was an overall lack of Rey toys, and Hasbro for one decided not to include it in their monopoly set.

So people started a #WheresRey hashtag on twitter, and later a #HeresRey tag.

So I figured Luke might want to join in and say, "look, she's here guys!"

I know, dumb joke, humor me.

 

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA (I'm hunkering you.)

 

Rey: "Tag! You're it!" She drops the lightsaber and runs away.
Luke: Picks up lightsaber. "Sigh. I'm getting too old for this game."

 

SCENE: AHCH-TO ISLAND.
Rey approaches the man who she believes and feels is Luke Skywalker. He then turns to face her and lowers his hood.

"Why are you here?" Luke asks.
"I'm searching for a great warri..." Rey begins.
"Hmph. Wars do not make one great. "Luke replies gruffly.

Luke then suddenly snatches Rey's satchel from her and starts quickly searching through it. He finds his old lightsabre and waves it around crazily, giggling madly with glee and nostalgia.

"HEY! That's mine!" Rey shouts, "Give me that back!" Rey protests.
"MINE, mine! Or I will help you not!" Luke says defiantly.

 

I feel like the look he gave Rey was the look of guilt, as if he had failed... It was his job to keep Rey safe. Now that she has found him, she is in danger. He possibly wanted to hide Rey from Snoke bc he realized that she is more powerful than Kylo Ren. In VIII, he will have no other choice but to convince her to be trained.

 

I'd say he was thinking: Aw man! Why didn't that dork Unkar Plutt keep my daughter away from all this? Now I'm definitly going to have to go to Toche Station to buy her some power converters!

 

He seemed sad and in pain. What that means, I don't know.

This is what the script says:

Not much really, except that Luke seems to know who Rey is and what she is doing there. Another possible relevant detail is that he is said to be both "amazed and conflicted" at what he sees.
