Where's General Hux?

He meant that that's how it was up until last month, really.

Han and Chewie's appearance in the celebration trailer may have been cutting things close.
The shots of Poe in X-wing are all from Takodana/Starkiller.
Kylo Ren igniting his lightsaber in the snowy forest on Starkiller is near the end as well.

Not even sure where the First Order rally scenes come from... but we know that Phasma is with Kylo Ren on Jakku at the start of. Could be from later in the movie as well for all we know.

 

Hux has a Tarkin role..Hux basically spends all his time on the StarKiller echoing Tarkin from ANH.

 

And for all we know, we could know absolutely nothing! .

I can see Hux being really smart...IF he does not die, he can weasel his way out of any situation just to survive. His face literally looks like he is street smart and talks his way out of everything. He can handle himself...he is too smart for physical violence...he is very put together and has his act together. He will save himself before others, including Ren and Snoke, which could be his ultimate downfall.

 

At least Tarkin had an evil streak in him (think the destruction of Alderon), imagine if Hux turned out to be just another Admiral Piett

 

I hope they give Hux a proper story and arc, much more than they did for Tarkin and Piett. Both those characters were cool and memorable, but they didn't have much of a story, and no arc at all (unless you call Piett's fast-tracking through the ranks as an "arc"). To give the First Order dudes more of a bottom, I hope Hux (who is likely to be the figurehead/posterboy we identify the FO organization with) will be given his own interesting arc and agenda. It wouldn't need to be anything major - and I for one believe Hux won't survive SW7 - but something little to see him move organically with the story instead of being a placeholder for "badguy bossman"; that'd be great!

Phasma & Kylo are great individual characters, but Hux is likely to be a representative of the FO administration, which means he could do with some humanity and plot. (Of course, as someone mentioned, it is entierly possible that Hux will turn out a major surprise in TFA, possibly hiding a great plot-twist or something *caugh Plagueis caugh*, which would be just the kind of thing I want for Mr.Top Bureaucrat General Dude ).

 

Hux = Lex

Genius Level intellect and superior knowledge, coupled with street smarts that allows him to equal anyone.

 

Hux isn't the big bad guy, he certainly isn't going to die.

Gleeson said he had to sign up there and then when given a contract and it was for all 3 movies.

He will be in all 3 movies, I almost know it to be true. He could have said it just to be a giant ruse. I think Hux hails from a late Imperial or early FO family and he rises through the ranks to his current position. Hux is meant to be a "ruthless" character and he will be around for a while, I have a feeling. Will he be cut down and killed or possibly turned by Episode IX, I really hope so. I really hope they can turn him to fight for the Resistance, but he may be bad to the bone to the bitter end. We will just have to wait and see.

 

I'm sure that is Daisy. It sounds different because it's cut in from a different section of dialogue, so the inflection is different. We know what Phasma will sound like and it isn't that. Phasma sounds more posh and haughty.

There is some interesting background to Hux's family in Servants of the Empire: The Secret Academy by Jason Fry.

Commandant Brendol Hux leads a secret society within an Imperial Academy. "Together, my cadets, we shall oversee the creation of legions that ensure the Empire lives forever." He wants to create a program where infants are raised to be Imperial troops, inspired by the Clone Troopers. This fits with the idea that Finn was raised to be a First Order trooper.

 

Who's General Hux and what will be his role in The Force Awakens ? (pick your favorite answer)

1. Imperial/First Order Standard Officer, like many others in SW movies will order bad things and eventually die in TFA (remember Admiral Ozzel?)
2. First Order Head Honcho, we will see him as an evil and greedy bastard and eventually we'll have a big role in turning everything bad for our heroes (Tarkin?)
3. Could be a main charater disguised in plain sight, he could be a Skywalker or a Solo and in the movies we could see him coming back from the Dark Side
(might he even be Rey Twin?)
4. I really liked the internet theory that he is General Crix Madine son, but that should be unlikely

Who i can't really figure out is "Captain Phasma", is she just the unidimensional bad character with the Boba Fett pose, is she just a Silver Stormtrooper?

 

I don' think you bring in someone Like Gwendoline Chrstie to just play a Silver Stormtrooper. She has spoke about all the work she has put into making her character stand out as a woman with the way she walks, stands, speaks. I think she is the leader of an elite class of storm troopers. Think of the Delta Squad in Republic Commando.

Hux will eventually become the president....

I mean chancellor of the new republic.

And he will finally bring down that boy scout Superman...

I mean Luke Skywalker, once and for all!
