    I always thought his attire symbolised a path to the darker side of the force his peaceful farm boy existence in a ANH (white) sadness , fear , hopelessness in the I'm your father moment (grey flight suit ) to the anger, rage felt when vader acknowledged lukes sisters potential to be turned (black robes). ...I'm probably way off the mark but with starwars been full of symbolism iv always thought this

    i always saw it that way too. i never felt like Luke was actually seriously tempted to go to the Dark Side, but the black outfit helped impress on you visually that he could.

    The suits he wore and the slow transformation to cyborg (like his father) with his robotic hand ..showed the increasing question ....could he be turned ??.....This is how I interpreted it .....but no doubt in my mind the yavin ceremony jacket was the coolest in the galaxy far far away

    i think the scene where he looks at his gloved cybernetic hand would have definitely been less potent if he was not wearing black.

    What he wore in ROTJ, I'm wearing a black dress with a belt similar to that as a cosplay for my OC in March at a con. Looking forward to it.

    What's An OC? And yeah his ROTJ was really cool and someone pointed on here that his dress is really white on the inside which makes it that much cooler .

    ROTJ outfit was always my favorite but I always wanted to see him in a jedi robe like Obi-Wan. Now that he is it is definitely my new fav. He looks weathered and wise. Can't wait to see him in action!

    Holy crap yes he was! I totally forgot about that! I can remember him pulling the hood back from his head. I think I like this one more though. The beard is cool too. Thanks for reminding me about that.

    I thought the outfit in ROTJ was sleek and gave the impression of his strength and journey from farm boy to Jedi. I agree that clothing seemed to transform as he grew and now he's wearing the old style Obi Wan type that gives the impression of age and power.
