SPECULATION Will "Skywalker" surname die with Luke?

Yeah it can't die if the entire point of the main movies is the SKYWALKERS then the name literally can't die .

 

I sure hope the surname doesn't die. The name Skywalker is as synonymously recognizable to the Star Wars mythology as the Force itself. Besides, years from now, I don't want people to say "what does that word mean?" when looking at the "Skywalker Sound" logo on the end credits of every major motion picture.

 

It won't, highly doubt that. Kylo IS a Skywalker so maybe he would call himself Ben Skywalker as he would end up feeling a bigger bond with Luke and Leia than with Han.

 

I always have hope there will be another one.

 

As others have already stated, it's highly doubtful that the Skywalker name will end with Luke. Even if Rey isn't a direct descendant, Ben Solo remains half-Skywalker, and should he continue the lineage then... well... the surname remains. And anyone down the line could choose to have their last name be Skywalker-Solo or even just Skywalker out of pure preference. Additionally, do we know if Shmi has any living relatives? There could be other Skywalkers that we just have no knowledge of....

 

Or Rey could have kids with Luke... you never know

 

If Luke doesn't have a kid, then the name dies with Luke sadly.

 

The story of Star Wars, well when we talk about the trilogies, they're the stories of the Skywalkers. . . Why would this be any different now. There will be a Skywalker and I doubt they will leave that in the hands of just a Solo/ Skywalker. I honestly believe it will be Rey, and honestly how AWESOME would that be, our first female Skywalker Jedi!! I think that's just wicked!

 

It has to end up as a oureblooodline at least for Luke. He can continue his legacy without a bloodline directly though. I hope Rey is his, but if they're being this secretive about it then I kinda have my doubts but I hope we see a literal Skywalker otherwise there's no point in KK's statement she unless they keep Luke alive forever (I hope so)

 

Exactly man, like Leia has never adapted the Skywalker name and I highly doubt after Kylo's little slip up on Starkiller Base, you know the whole killing his dad and trying to kill everyone else! I doubt he will be willing to carry the Skywalker name!
So I honestly think Rey will turn out to be a Skywalker and from the moment Rey and Han bumped into each other, I feel like Han was weird around Rey, offering the job (Keep her close), offering her the gun and when Maz asks about the girl, we're not allowed to hear! Then Maz, guesses Lukes saber has called to her, now as it did the Skywalkers past? I reckon Han told her and she might have been going to get Lukes saber to give her? Man I am getting to pumped hahaha

 

SO FAR i think the saga has been about sons and fathers. so luke will have a son somehow but will still start of his journey to find his real son

 

Well, Kylo certainly wasn't the only one of Luke's students to get taken by the dark side! What if, one of the others, might be a far bit younger than Kylo is with snoke being trained and Luke is trying to find him ? Because one is his son?

 

I said something earlier today that what if Luke started the KoR to protect his students and his son was spared by Kylo but forced into exile on Ach-To which is why Luke is there in reality.

 

Oh man that would be amazing, I have been hoping that more than just Luke survived, like 3 or 4 Jedi (maybe his son included are there with him, training, getting ready!

When Rey later on finds her parents, She may get married, But it is forbidden for a jedi to have feelings for someone,but anyway if she does that ws ill be the main name in the StarWars Universe
