SPECULATION Will Wedge & General Madine appear in Rogue One?

This may be pessimistic of me, but IMO, if they tried to cram too many fan-favorites into Rogue One, the whole thing would come across as unnecessary fan service. There's certainly a place for that, and all the movies do it to varying degrees, but if it's all over the place, it stops being cool and gets a bit old. They already have Vader, Tarkin, Organa, Mon Mothma, and the whole aesthetic of the original trilogy. Too much else, for me at least, would detract from my investment in the new story being told.

In R1 i saw, Mothma, Bail, the "famous droid duo", Vader, Tarkin, Saw, Red & Gold leader, and a certain "famous princess". I was told there were background lookalikes of Biggs, Porkins & wedge but i didn't c 'em.

 

Wedge could not have been in Rogue One. Why would he say "Look at the size of that thing!" in shocked surprise during the Battle Of Yavin after seeing the Death Star earlier over Scarif?
