I think there is a strong chance the "bionic" hand isn't Luke but ... REY.
She may lose her right hand fighting with Ren or Snoke then she gives the saber to Luke in the final scenes.

    No, this is Luke.

Search your feelings, you *know* it to be true!

It's revealed Rey is the daughter of Chewbacca and Leia.

In all honesty, I'm not too bothered. I know whatever it will be will knock my socks off.

Not a twist but something nobody is waiting for is Leia being an accomplished jedi.

JJ will play off everyone's knowledge of Harrison Ford's contempt for Han Solo in the past, and how most people feel he will be killed off, only to have Chewy get killed off and Han be mournful. It would make more sense to kill off Chewbacca anyway, given Peter Mayhew's condition these days.

I am as hopeful of that, her gripping that lightsaber in the second trailer is a good sign.

Her attire doesn't seem to fit the jedi dress code.

True, but it was always silly that the Jedi dress code matched traditional Tatooine attire as worn by the Lars family and Sandpeople. Maybe they are retconning Jedi apparel.

I think the twist will eventually be Evil Leia. But for TFA, I think the twist will be that Rey is actually a Jedi padawan in hiding. And that she and Kylo are related.

It doesn't have to, Jedi dress code is quite flexible. :p

I would say it's very practical outfit (also dueling wise). It strongly reminds me of this one:

What if Finn was actually an agent from the First Order ? Infiltrating the Republic ?

The biggest twist that movie could go for in my opinion would be this:

    - Andy Serkis is NOT in TFA (Well, his voice is), this is red herring from JJ and Co.

Photos released (Hamill dressed as the good old Luke, Serkis in MoCap) are just there to make us take the wrong turn.

Luke Skywalker is the master... TFA was a masterplan to figure out who was to be his apprentice.

Poe is actually a Skywalker - hence his skills with an X-Wing. Also, as Hux is so young I reckon he must be related to someone to be in the position that he is. I think he must be proposing he is the son of Tarkin or something like that? I don't think anyone could be the son of Palpatine because they wouldn't stand for Snoke then claiming to be the 'supreme leader'

Since you´ve point to Hux´s age....the old trilogy had all the officers in an older - and more appropiate - age. Yet it didn´t affect the younger audience. Therefore I don´t understand "general" Hux....seems exaggerated even in the Star Wars universe :)

Finn turns out to be a Knight of Ren who infiltrated the FO to keep tabs on Kylo Ren.

Finn maintains the façade of being a defecting Storm Trooper after meeting Rey until he's sure it's safe to reveal his true identity. This comes during the scenes with Maz.

The Knights of Ren are a neutral group of Force Sensitives focused on maintaining balance through use of both the Light and Dark Sides of the Force. At some point, Kylo Ren (himself one of the Knights of Ren) went renegade and began following his own agenda (inspired by an obsessive reverence for Darth Vader). Finn was dispatched to scupper Kylo's plans by preventing Kylo getting his hands on Vader's old Sabre. When Finn learns that Luke ("the son of Skywalker") is still alive he joins the search to find him, knowing that Luke could be pivotal in preventing Kylo achieving his nefarious aims and maintaining the balance he (Finn) and the other Knights of Ren are self-appointed guardians of.

So what is Kylo trying to do? Kylo is trying to prevent Vader's Sabre falling into the hands of the Acolytes of the Beyond, the inner sanctum of the Knights of Ren. The AotB intend to destroy the Sabre (thus returning it to Vader in death) to prevent its crystal and the intense Force energy it absorbed being wielded by The Chosen One (and his son) being used to fulfil Vader's work ("I will finish what you began").

So what was Vader's work? Vader continued to indulge his obsession with Padme in secret and regardless of Sideous's involvement/approval. Vader (Anakin) hoped to bring Padme back. Kylo has learned of this project--and his success pursuing it--and hopes to use the crystal from Vader's Sabre (along with other, Force-rich artefacts) to empower himself to bring back Vader (and perhaps other long-dead Sith). The Acolytes of the Beyond (servants of the dead) want to stop this and dispatched their agent, Finn, one of the Knights of Ren, to this end.

    Or something....

*I'm not suggesting the Sabre contains details of Vader's attempts to bring back Padme: I know the Sabre was lost before Anakin donned the armour, etc. The Sabre holds the power; the knowledge gained by Vader re: bringing back the dead (the knowledge Kylo has acquired) came from somewhere else. Ah what the heck, it's all just fun speculation anyway -- won't happen, lol....

No, Poe's parents are in the new novel "Lost Stars"...he's not any relation.
