Just saw Dune part 2 last night.

LF needs to be paying attention, I know their bread and butter is with a certain demographic. But there is no reason that at least some material can 't have this level of sophistication and maturity. It was absolutely amazing and the audience actually clapped at the end.

I loved the cast, but I have to admit that Chalemet was my favourite as Paul. Much like Daisy as Rey, he was able to convey so much with so little. And the ability to exude power without throwing his weight around or running his mouth. No flash at all. I will be definitely be seeing this film again.

One of several movies that they did on Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and have resurrected for one of their live Rifftrax shows. Somehow the movie actually managed to do pretty well financially when it was released in 1975. It had a cast that would have been considered all-star a decade earlier but weren't anymore. The script is awful and the special effects are... well... it's a Volkswagen Bug wearing a spider costume being driven in reverse.

Dune 1 & Dune 2, I rewatched the first film yesterday and saw the second tonight in theatre. I missed some of the more charismatic cast members from the first movie (like Isaac & Momoa). It is possible that people hyped the movie to much. It's a good movie, but it's not masterpiece. However, it will win Oscars for cinematography and set design for sure in 2025. It could have been 25 minutes shorter. Dune: Messiah will be made for sure.

    Watch it in theatre.

Seems like when I was a kid back in the 80s and 90s this movie was ALWAYS on TV late at night. So often if I'm up late at night I get the desire to watch it, and while it's not a horror movie or anything its definitely something that works better late at night than during the day.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in my recent movie binge and definitely of my favourite. Not something I typically watch, but I glad I did. The characters, performances, cinematography, ideas - everything is wonderful.

I've always felt and still feel this is a very under appreciated or underrated monster movie although it became a cult hit and spawned a direct to video franchise and a tv series season! This one still very much holds up in every way including the practical effects and puppetry.

It bombed hard at the box office and probably with critics but was a massive hit on video and TV airings, which I got to be part of because I would rent this all the time at Blockbuster or Hollywood Videos and see it with my parents whenever it was on tv before eventually buying it on VHS then DVD!

Just a very fun and well made movie with great ordinary and simple characters!

Yeah it's a good fun movie, and the second movie is a lot of fun too but I haven't really cared for anything that came out afterward. I haven't seen the most recent one though. The sixth one was really forgettable and when I heard they were killing Burt in the next one I decided it was a good time to bail on the franchise. I guess that was the end of the franchise anyway until the inevitable reboot. The character of Burt is dead (and he's been carrying the franchise since the third one), Fred Ward who played Earl passed away and the only other character anybody would want to see would be Val but I don't see Kevin Bacon coming back for anything but a cameo in a big budget remake. I don't see too many people continuing with the franchise in this cheap manner if it no longer has any ties to the original.

Kevin Bacon eventually wanted to come back to the role and the only sequel he wanted to do. He tried getting a new Tremors show in 2018 made on Syfy where he would produce and star as Val again and did film a pilot with a trailer released but Syfy didn't pick up the show for unknown reasons why. Bacon did return for a documentary around that time though!

As well did reunite with Michael Gross for a commercial

    I rank the franchise as..

    Tremors
Tremors 2( also fun and underrated)
    Tremors 4: The Legend Begins
    Tremors 3: Back to Perfection
    Tremors: The Series
Tremors: Shrieker's Island (7th and last)
    Tremors: Bloodlines (5th)
Tremors: Cold Day In Hell (6)

Tremors 1 and 2 are awesome and by far the best, 3/series and 4 are alright, Shrieker's Island was ok and different in some good ways but 5 and especially 6 are just meh whatever!

Looked up the first film and was pleasantly surprised to find it 88% fresh on rotten tomatoes and 7.5/10 on IMDB!

Wow that really surprises me, Kevin must be lightening up because there was a time he tried to distance himself from some of his earlier roles that weren't as "respectable". For years he would claim his first movie was Diner as if he wanted everybody to forget his taking an arrow to the throat in Friday The 13th and a paddle to the rear end in Animal House. Then sometimes you'll find him discussing both movies fondly. I assumed he was at the point where he was at peace with all his work but didn't see him going back to participate. It's a shame that series didn't make it, from what I see SyFy channel didn't want to pick it up. They air tons of garbage so I imagine it was probably just going to be too expensive for them.

Even though I own most of them on Blu Ray (though the collection I have was when there were only 4 movies and I later watched 5 and 6 on Netflix or something) I only ever watch the first two and can't remember enough of the others to rank them. But I think I might like the second one a little more than the first, the first is definitely the better film overall but the second one is funnier to me and that's the movie where Burt REALLY becomes Burt.

I prefer the first film but I get what you mean about the 2nd one. Aftershocks is definitely also fun and even more underrated! Earl returning and being the lead is cool and always did miss Reba's Heather but was great seeing Burt as a one man army and a great set up as him taking over the series

Yeah same. Watched on Netflix and probably will again but should have gone to see it at my favorite theater and almost did but ended up seeing classic films being shown instead
