Darth Plagueis In The Sequel Trilogy.

Sidious described the capabilities of the Dark Side and its potential for saving Padme multiple times elsewhere in the movie, and Padme's salvation was never explicitly outlined in the opera scene in question, so I think that you could remove said scene and still have enough to establish Anakin's motivation for turning. I'm not saying it isn't a good scene, merely highlighting how minuscule Plagueis' connection the prequels, which I believe to be the main source of derision aimed at the theory, really is.

And I would personally argue that either Anakin's and Obi-Wan's fight or Anakin interceding into Windu's and Palpatine's fight was the most crucial scene in the PT.

 

I was wondering this morning whether Hux & Co. identify the character as Snoke but Kylo refers to him as Plagueis when the two are alone.
Alternatively of course, if Snoke is Hego, then the new title could represent a new agenda, an abandonment of the Sith title of Darth Plagueis & the adoption of Snoke.

On whatever side you are, you must admit that Darth Plagueis is a great subject of discussion.

Now, the main thing that worries me is if DP can be well interpreted in the ST. With Andy Serkis playing him, I think we have THE best actor to play such a character.

On the Writting side however... I just don't want them to turn Plagueis into a Palpatine-bis. I want a more mysterious, almost mystical character. If Snoke happens to be Plagueis... he would be THE oldest character in the trilogy. And I would litterally love to see flashbacks narrated by an evil figure. But that's almost a dream I suppose.

If false information is being massively distributed, they would put a stop to it, in the same way that the fake bear rape scene from that recent western (can't remember the name of the film) prompted an official response.

 

I've been riding THAT bantha for a while now. Plagueis declared that the RoT was obsolete, but Palpatine continued with the Status Quo after the demise of his Master. Leaving the name Hego Damask behind would be the smartest thing to do, especially if he is supposed to be dead.... so Plagueis would need a new cover. Hello, Snoke.

Yeah just seems weird how they went about it, I don't doubt for a second Disney contacted them, but it was still up almost 24 hours after they announced Disney contacted them, then remained untouched (even though it was said to have been trimmed in youtube) and all of a sudden after their next movie talk, its unlisted. Screams of using the Disney request as a ploy for views/attention etc.
