Finally saw wonder woman and it is on another level completely to the recent superheroes to me. Great characters, clever humor, and an incredibly moving story. Nice to see an actual solo movie as well.

Just watched Wonder Woman. Finally! A truly great DCEU film! It's not quite on the level of the Dark Knight as some people were claiming, but it really is great. Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman. I'll probably see this one more than once in theaters.

Just watched it again and feel comfortable saying it is my favorite superhero film. I love the Dark Knight but I have to be in a certain mood to watch it. This is a movie that is so infectious that I could watch it anytime.

WONDER WOMAN was solid. It really doesn't innovate or create anything new and it felt very cliched once off Themyscira.

If people think TFA is a copy of ANH, then WW is a copy of CAPTAIN AMERICA THE FIRST AVENGER

I generally agree. It was good but there are a couple of flaws that it has.

The first one is how the war was portrayed. Entente was good, Central powers bad. War is always a mess and both the "good guys" and the "bad guys" do some good and some bad. This is especially clear in WWI, which Wonder Woman chose to portray, when basically Entente is considered "good" because it is the alliance that won the war. I would love to see a scene where Diana is on the German side and sees wounded soldiers, broken families to see that both sides suffer.

    The second is a spoiler.
It has to do with the final fight, when Diana beats Ares (obciously.) I have no problem with her winning (she obviously will, like any other superhero) but the way she won is dubious. She tells him a speech about love, peace and etc. and then she annihilates him with a death ray, in combat. It would have been fantastic if she came to realisation that fighting with the god of war is stupod because fighting is basically his thing. What could have happened instead was her defeating him by deciding to not fight him instead, just like Luke throwing his lightsaber away in RotJ and thus destroying Darth Vader. This would have given us an ending that fits Wonder Woman as a symbol of hope and good in mankind. Also, such unfolding of events would have been a fantastic payoff to Hyppolita's words that not everything could be won with a fight.

In regards to the spoiler. I agree pretty much 100%. The whole 3rd act is fairly sloppy as well.
It just sort of happens because the movie has to end. Decisions and things leading up to it don't fit or seem to make sense. Then they just sort of made her OP where she's basically a maguffin now and can't be killed except by another god, because well, they screwed up Superman already.
How didn't Ares just waste her? He's the god of war. And I really hate how you never got to see Ares be bad. He just was because they said so. He never really does anything evil other than the "the people are under his influence!" except then they weren't really...And Trevor's self sacrifice felt like it belonged but that was a perfect chance for Ares to do something to actually be evil.

So, I've seen Wonder Woman, my first DCEU movie. As someone whose actual first movie ever was Superman The Movie, I just saw its contemporary spiritual sister. This wasn't just a great superhero movie, but a great movie, period. When it was done, I couldn't believe that it was almost two and a half hours long, it just flew by.

Gal Gadot and Pine had a great chemistry not just with each other but with their crew. Tear was shed when
    Trevor died and Diana screamed
, fist was pumped when Trevor yelled "Diana! Shield!".

Themyscira scenes were fantastic, Amazons were badass, No Man's Land was Diana's coming of age. All around great film.

If have to nitpick, the villains were a little weak
(though Ares looked good in armor, not so much with the mustaches)
and in a few scenes CGI was noticeable even to me (who almost never notices it), but it doesn't matter - Diana was perfect, the story they were telling was great, I exited the cinema so, so happy.

I will see it again for sure and now I might actually see Justice League to see more of Diana. Warner Brothers better sign any figure that Patty Jenkins asks, is all I'm saying.

Also, Marvel has trained us well - half the theater was waiting for a post-credit scene. That was my brother's first question when the credits started.

Sometimes it's necessary to "copy" even by accident but TFA was no accident

I think D.C. is trying to start differentiating itself from marvel by doing this but I've seen other movies that have Those scenes although sometimes pointless

Spot-on review on almost every item. I have to continually point out that Snyder had large part in the making of this movie. He gets bashed so much for his other works, that he deserves credit for his successes.

I'm glad the DCEU does not do mid/end credit scenes. That's a Marvel thing. The DCEU needs to go out of its way to stand apart and have it's own identify.

I can't wait to see WW again(probably Sunday).

TFA played in the world of Star Wars. That's more necessary to me than to take CATFA and just throw a WW skin on it.

the comparisons were inevitable though. with TFA it was done with purpose. there is a major difference with that.

I'm not the one to take people's successes (or blunders, for that matter) away from them, but for me this was Patty's triumph. :)

It is incredible to me that someone who directed Charlize Theron to the Oscar has to wait, what, 13 years to direct another. Thank the Force for television.

Now that I've finally seen the movie, I can read about it without the fear of spoilers. How tone deaf powers that be of Hollywood can be is amazing.

I think you are right about it being Patty's triumph. She directed the hell out of it.

Part of her delay was her own choosing. Marvel tabbed her for Thor 2 but she backed out when they wouldn't let her alter the script. (Marvel made a big time mistake there)

I actually agree. I just don't think it's a bad thing with TFA.

And I think the hype of WW before I saw it really raised my expectations to an unattainable level.
