Does anyone care about the characters that are left for Episode IX?

I care more about the characters that are left than ones that are gone. I grew up with the OT characters, and love them all, but I never wanted to see a Star Wars movie centered around the adventures of 60 and 70 year-olds.

And I like all of the new characters. Some of their story-lines have been more compelling than others, but I still want to see what happens to each of them. I really hope that we get to see the heroes all do something together in Ep9. I'm assuming some time will have passed since the end of TLJ, and it will be fun to see how the dynamic between Rey, Finn and Poe has developed once they've had time to bond while fighting the First Order together.

that actually sounds like something that han and luke would say to eachother...damn why did harrison become so stubborn in wanting to kill han off. imagine force ghost luke messing with han solo by morphing into jabba

The characters and actors in the ST are by far the best thing it has going for it, so yes I think a lot of people give a blast. The resistance / first order conflict and the general sameness of the galaxy as it was in the OT is one of the weakest things about the current movies. A safe choice to not scare away OT fanboys for sure, but nevertheless continuing the rebels / empire story is totally unimaginative...So the further it gets away from old actors and traditions and develops these new characters more, the better the movie will be. I say give rey and kylo two trilogies to develop into a hero and villian on the same level as the original characters.

 

What do you need December 2019 for? That sounds SUSPICIOUS!

I do care about the new characters. That is one of the best things that Disney and LFL did: Creation of characters with charisma! Somethig that I missed with the prequels.
Kylo, Rey, Finn, Bb-8, Hux and Poe are excelents aquision for the franchise.

 

I like when we have the mixture.

Rey, Chewie, Finn and Artoo on the Falcon. Just give me a movie of that and I’ll be happy. He’ll throw in a Porg or two.
Poe, Threepio, and B.B.-8 on the new Rebel flagship.

Anyone else think we will see Maz Kanata in a bigger role since she’s JJ’s character?

Curious to see how JJ handles Leia... Reylo(sickening), and how he ends ST trilogy.

 

I pretty much like the characters left except for Rose and Hux. Couldn't stand her and he lost all credibility in TLJ. My hope is that the characters from TFA that were left out of TLJ (Snap, Jess and Admiral Statura) return. And with Carrie's passing Lando better be in the movie, he is one of the only characters who could even begin to fill the void that will be left in Ep.IX.

 

BDW/LANDO is 80 years old, I'd be shocked if they put him in ep. 9. They should but I doubt it. They wanted Wedge Antilles, Denis Lawson ( age 70) in TFA but no Lando something is seriously wrong...

 

To be honest I just care about seeing what Kylo's fate is. But it feels like the movie is stating that all the characters, including Kylo, have been through their conflicted journey already and have chosen their path in life. As for Rey, I'd have to know more about her backstory to care for her as much I do with Kylo. I get that they were trying to make her be hopeful about being some legendary hero or descendant of one, only for her dreams to be crushed, but I definitely couldn't feel that hope emanating from her. Another part of Rey I want to see explored is her impulsiveness. When I watched Korra I could feel how Korra's impulsiveness was a central part of her character that impacted the story. With Rey, sometimes her impulsiveness comes up like when she hits Luke, but it didn't seem to go anywhere. It was hinted she doesn't reject the dark side, and then it didn't go anywhere else with that.

For Finn, I'm interested in what future conflicts lie in his mind. He just saw a darker side of the Resistance when he talked to DJ. Is he going to go through any more conflict or is he fully committed to the Resistance as seen by his sacrifice? Does he care more for Rose or Rey? Please give Finn a more central role.

Hmm...Alright. That sounds like a lot of fun. But be careful, you might be descended upon with GREAT VENGEANCE AND FURIOUS ANGER if something goes wrong. I meant...Be careful, winter sports are dangerous, there are trees and...stuff.

THAT's sickening? A fictional ROMANCE? Alright, let me ask you: How do you handle the murder, torture and rape that happen in the real world on a regular basis? If Reylo sickens you, surely reality has you bedridden. Or do you ignore real horrors and save your disgust for harmless fiction?

 

Christopher Lee was in his 90's when he did the Hobbit. Its not like Lando would need to be a really active role. Bring him in and have him be one of the heads of the Resistance. Have the majority of his scenes be as the General giving orders from the command ship. I wouldn't expect any actions scenes even if he was in 100% perfect health.

 

Yes sickening, I know allot about murder, torture, kidnapping, rape, etc., because I work in a jail, I face real world crooks everyday, 365 days a year, for 12 years so far, my job ain't for the faint of heart, I'm a Correction Officer and I'm far from bedridden, Kylo Ren should be locked up in Sunspot prison for his crimes against the Resistance and the Republic.

If you are comfortable with Reylo, thats fine, but I am not and that is my opinion.

Kylo doesn't deserve the sweet love of Rey. Finn or even Poe deserve her love, other then that brat in a mask. Kylo lied to Hux, the child said, Rey killed Snoke. He wasn't man enough to tell the truth. If he was a fully fledged Supreme Leader he would have told him the truth: I killed Snoke, I'm the new supreme leader but like a child he blamed it on someone else for nothing but fear.

If JJ does a good job with Reylo I'll accept it, because I'm not a child wearing a mask. In JJ I trust, hopefully he ends the ST trilogy the best way he can.

 

And yet you can't tell the difference between evil and victims of evil. How does that work? How come you spend most of your time around criminals, some of which are (I assume) cold blooded murderers and rapists, and somehow you don't understand the effects that evil has over the minds of its victims? You know, like Kylo Ren, who is a flawless example of a victim of evil. No, that doesn't absolve him of his crimes, but it doesn't make him unworthy of love either. And love IS NOT SICKENING. What is sickening is using love to manipulate someone, like Snoke did. And you still haven't answered my question, and knowing what you do I REALLY have to ask again: How come Reylo (a fictional ROMANCE) makes you sick but you somehow keep yourself from throwing up around real evil?

What kind of argument is this? Have you considered that admitting to killing Snoke would have gotten Kylo shot on the spot? You do realize he's not invincible, right? Not right after being knocked out by a blast.
