yeah I had a discussion with someone as well who had the theory about Snoke being Palpatine who may possess a body. Your theory is indeed very detailed and would fit with the scene in which the emperor is thrown down the reactor shaft and the blue energy leaves the shaft. But if this already happened during Endor party, Luke must have felt it. Hmmm, maybe that's why he left so early and did not continue the training of Leia.

 

Lucasfilm didn't use George's ideas while creating storyline for TFA. This very specific of Dark Side users not beig able to become Force Ghosts comes from "The Clone Wars" series, which is still canon, so Palpie couldn't have changed into a Force Ghost.

Theoretically, there's also another possibility. In TCW after the first battle of Dathomir Mother Talzin freed her spirit from her body so that she could survive the battle and later return to physical form. Since Palpatine was taught by Talzin in Dark Side magick (as far as I remember,) he could have in theory escaped his body and pursued later revenge. However, there's a number of problems related to this alternative route. Firstly, he mostly couldn't have possesed Anakin's body. Why? Yoda's and Obi-wan's remains vanished after they became Force Ghosts, so I'm certain the same thing happened with Ani's body. Secondly, if we rule out the possesion and assume that Sidious instead decided to regain his physical form, Luke would have most likely noticed that. Talzin's attempt required huge amounts of Living Force and such an unnatural intervention into Life & Death's cycle would have been sensed by Luke (and Leia) and (t)he(y) would do anything possible to stop this attempt from fruition. Lastly, if Snoke was even partially Palspatine, they would have brought back Ian Mcdiarmid and put on him some new make-up or even use his voice at least. He lives in London, he definitely enjoyed his time as the Emperor and Lucasfilm is not afraid of bringing back Prequel-era actors into their films (Genevieve O'Reilly, Jimmy Smits, Ewan McGregor,) so why wouldn't they do the same thing with Palpie?

Your theory is weird. I stick to my own theory. Snoke is the first dark sider . He ressurected himself by force draining a visitor to his crypt.

Not another Snoke/Pleagues theory! Just give it up. wait til we get more info on Ep. VIII. if they say snoke is a new character then hes new. as Pablo H if its a pseudonym. and i read one thread here that mention anakin/vader/sidious that took alphabets out and spelled snoke. really!?

 

Indeed I agree with you. This would be excellent. Never made sense that Palps allowed himself to die like that anyway. He always had a Clairvoyance about things. He always seem to know his destiny.

I believe this would help make Snoke weak too as he would need to use all the force power he has or nearly all of it just to stay alive.
Luke was actually needed to have Vader turn on the emperor. Sideous needed Vader to turn on him and to the light to save his own life and Luke was what he used to turn Vader.
