Ladies & Gents, I give you SNOKE!

Snoke is clearly a Bothan who felt shafted by just a passing mention from Mon Mothma

 

The point is that Unless Snoke acquired his dark side mastery within that time period then here are huge question marks over where he was in the years we witnessed on screen. Snoke is a dark side master. He has seen the rise and fall of the empire. He's apparently quite old. Therefore why didn't he make himself know of earlier? Why was he happy to sit by and not make a power play or influence events previously?

We know with Palpatine (and witnessed) his rise to power. We know he and all the other Sith were planning to take over and we're actively doing evil. But apparently Snoke was not. He has been dumped into the galactic arena as if out of the blue.

So for me if he isn't Plagueis then the next reasonable idea to me is that he must've been corrupted by the dark side in the time period after rotj. The point being that him being an ancient dark sider who has simply observed events, doesn't work for me.

 

THAT is God damn brilliant, out of the box thinking right there son!

Apropos to nothing: I think it would be great if Snoke was revealed to be Yoda’s size, but compensates with giant holograms.
