The Fly. Not my favorite Goldblum movie but maybe his best ever performance

Knock At The Cabin - I always root for M. Night movies only for some to let you down. This one let me down. Not because I think it will be his next best movie, but because he can write/direct great characters and stories when he's not trying so hard. Some people's expectations are way too high and it skews their experience. This is not the case for me.

I gave it a shot and it just wasn't his best. It also wasn't his worst. It starts out promising with a mystery then just goes down hill. 3/5 for me.

The Slipper and the Rose (1976) at the start of this month on the airplane on vacation. It's the second-best musical adaptation of Cinderella, with fun choreography and a phenomenal Fairy Godmother, but it just doesn't live up to Rogers & Hammerstein.

Bride and Prejudice. (2004) On the airplane ride back from the same vacation. I wanted to watch this after reading Pride and Prejudice, but I decided to bite the bullet and watch this first to get the motivation to read. Like the above, it had fun choreography, but the musical talent itself was MASSIVELY lacking. The story was good, and it did encourage me to read the book, so it's moved up on my TBR!

Avatar: The Way of Water. (2022) It looked nice, but the movie itself was pretty generic on all levels.

I finally saw The Dial Of Destiny and loved it. The story was good. Cast were great. Loved the locations. It was some trip watching my home town successfully masquerading as New York City, then walking out of the cinema straight into those same streets.

I wished the script had more/better jokes. And I'd have liked it better if the villains had suffered a more specifically ironic and graphic death but context of what we got was superb. That would have definitely tipped it over into instant smash classic status. But I have no complaints.

The characterisation of Helena and her "Short Round" was a great choice. And the relationship between her and Indy was brilliant. (She reminds me of what I'd read of the original vision for Indiana Smith as a treasure hunter who keeps hunting treasure to finance their lifestyle.)

The movie had me from the start and never lost me at any point (although the underwater bit could have if it hadn't been so brief).

The ending was emotional and not sentimental or cloying. :)

Carpenter is probably my favorite director but this isn't one of his best though it's a fun idea. It was originally supposed to be an anthology horror show on Showtime in answer to HBO's Tales From The Crypt but during production Showtime decided they wouldn't bother trying to compete so it was instead turned into an anthology film similar to Creepshow. Honestly the best part of the movie are the parts with John Carpenter playing host introducing the segments similar to the Cryptkeeper.

The segments themselves aren't amazing but somewhat fun. The two Capenter directed are better but the third that Toby Hooper directed is kind of meh. Though it does have Mark Hamill hamming it up which is fun.

Just watched The Little Mermaid (2023), and I liked it plenty. A fine film with lots of heart.
Awkwafina as Scuttle stole the show, but that's fine. Yeah, nice watch, this.

I've always loved this movie and as a kid some friends and I snuck into T2 but I have not seen any of the Terminator movies (or the show) that have come out since. From what I understand I haven't missed much.

ELVIS(2022) - I'm gonna be honest. This movie was kind of stupid. Tom Hanks was annoying, his prosthetics sucks, terrible acting. It was like it was trying to imitate a comic book. Austin Butler plays Elvis pretty well, but the material he has to work with is awful. The movie's split screens and fast movement is also annoying.

As a whole the whole movie felt like a joke

I had no plans at all to watch this film, but a good friend stated that it was really good, since I've watched it, I could not forget it, it was rather haunting; films are subjective, you must watch them for yourself.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, after I watched it I could not understand all vitriol surrounding that film, it was pretty good... old voice, fake Indy did not ruin my experience, much better than Crystal Skull.

Great poster or physical media art! I've watched all the Terminator films, I hope James Cameron pursues his current Idea for a new Terminator film, A.I. inspired.

I really had no desire to watch Elvis at all, a person who watched it said, it was very good. He is a scholar and a gentleman of the highest caliber, so now I was curious... haha, and to my surprise I enjoyed it, I will not watch it again but I had a good experience. It was haunting, I love watching movies of the past... it reminds me that things haven't changed so much.
