    I've watched Ready Player One.

    It was just okay. Don't get me wrong, it was fun and it had its ups and downs. But overall it was nothing special to me. The visuals and the references to Videogames, movies (especially The Shining) etc. were great. But the pacing and the dialogue not that much.

    Had a bit of a movie run over the long weekend...

    Unsolicited and wholly subjective Lazarus scores:

    Annhiliation 6/10 - Looks good, but just got too ephemeral to have any substance.
    Hell or High Water 9/10 - Brilliantly done and with a surprisingly good performance by Pine alongside another great turn from Bridges.
    Suburbicon 3/10 - Genuinely uncomfortable in places, but couldn't seem to decide whether it was a drama or a black comedy, ultimately it was neither.

    Isle of Dogs. A very Wes Anderson film. My only real issue is that the interpretor character voiced by Frances MacDormand loses all of her purpose in non-English speaking countries - if all of the film is subtitled anyway, why not do the same thing for Japanese-speaking characters instead of adding another layer of translation?

    PS. Also, the Oracle is great. There's something strangely endearing about this prophetic pug.
