Under the Skin. A British sci-fi film about a female alien played by Scarlett Johansson who through a series of encounters learns how to be more human. It's very contemplative and it definitely is a bit of an acquired taste but in my opinion is worth watching just for Scarlett's performance, which is her career's best.

Found myself watching The Big Sick with Mrs Lazarus last night... surprised at how much I liked it to be honest as I wouldn't normally watch much/anything in the rom-com vein.

    USLS: 8/10

Definitely the best of The Hobbit trilogy - it was a real shame that Unexpected Journey was so drawn out, without actually getting anywhere and then BOTFA just felt like a bloated epilogue.

I loved this movie. Actually I like of all Jonathan Glazer movies (only 3 so far):

    Under the Skin (2013)
    Birth (2004)
    Sexy Beast (2000)

North by Northwest. The most entertaining film by Hitchcock. Also, the final shot is SO ON THE NOSE. I loved it. :D

PS. Also, Eve Marie Saint is my favourite Hitchcockian blue-eyed, blonde leading lady.

THOROUGHBREDS - Aces of a film. Dark humor done so well. Olivia Cooke and Ana Taylor-Joy shine. Anton Yelchin was a future powerhouse in genre films. His loss still hurts the film fan in me. (watch Odd Thomas and Hearts in Atlantis if you haven't yet)

HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS AT PARTIES - I came only for the weird Nicole Kidman. And that was neat. Everything else, was not my cup of tea. Not bad but just not for me.

Through some strange turn of events the first Jaws movie I ever saw was actually Jaws: The Revenge. Even though I had been on the Universal Tour in '84 with the shark it was a while before I actually saw the original. It weirds me out that on that same tour I saw the Back To The Future courthouse BEFORE Back To The Future. I looked it up once and I think they started filming a month or so after our little family vacation there. Anyway, after seeing The Revenge first it was a miracle I ever bothered to watch another. And I think it was probably about 4 or 5 years before I finally saw it one night on cable. I remember it was playing on TNT, TBS or one of those, there was an encore (as several of those types of channels did with their nighttime movies) and I watched it both times.

Not as amazing and fantastic as people say, but a solid film. Pennywise is freaking great, the idea (thanks to King) is interesting. The mood shifts too much, the OST is great, but some licenced music seems out of place. I never watch scary movies, but this one is more disturbing than scary. Not a masterpiece, but a solid film with character.

Another Samurai movie made by the great Akira Kurosawa. It was a solid movie, but not as good as the last Samurai movie I've watched (The Twilight Samurai).

Pretty much my exact review of the novel, if I were being VERY diplomatic.
