" atonement " interesting ! Can you just elaborate a bit on that point ? What exactly in your mind did Jedi have to atone for , wich TFA fixes for lack of a better term ?

I truly mean no offense, but you pretty much like everything Star Wars right?

I mean, you really love the prequels, no? As in, rank a few of them up there with the originals.

My point being that some of us are big fans, but not big enough to find something to love in everything released.

I not only find it disappointing, but strange Luke isn't in this thing. Not even one last scene with Han?

I think a lot of people will be let down if true.

I don't think the average fan will find atonement with this in ROTJ, I think most will say "really? Are you kidding me?"

Quick off this specific topic- do you get the sense fans will love the Finn character as much as promised? I find his background/arc very interesting

Have to agree with you. If all this is true, sorry I still don't buy it. This is going to be a massive disappointment. You're killing off one the biggest fan favorites on top of that Luke is on screen for one minute.
So much of this goes against his character and what we learned in the previous films.
Didn't he mention there's no jedi? Didn't we have confirmation that we have actors cast as padawans? So he goes into hiding like yoda but ignores yodas last wish to pass on what you've learned.
So much of this makes no sense

 

I find Making Star Wars news hard to follow, due to often nonsensical grammar and lack of proofreading. Comments within this thread are no exception.

Until I see the proof, the structure and content of this "news" is taken with a rather large grain of salt.

Just some time ago, Luke was the masked villian embracing Rey in a concept piece. Now, this.

I'll take the whole salt shaker, on second thought. If you have the goods(and a good lawyer), show us some proof.

 

No it makes total sense. Hence "atonement." Luke ends Return of the Jedi on a somber note. He's got a future for the first time. Things are wide open. He needs to pass on what he has learned. It doesn't seem he really has a chance to do that. But there you have it. He's about to pass on what he has learned. At the end of Jedi he goes back to his family. That family falls apart, it seems. Sorry, but the answers to Luke are in Episode VIII if this information that was present for every shot of the movie is correct.

 

When Badass first leaked his character in June I did find Finn interesting at first..
Whas kind of thinking he would be like this guy:

Then I learned two things:
First, his name.
Second, he's a pacifist.
Maybe the rumors don't do the character justice, but what I'm hearing in this character is Padme Amidala. On steroids.

 

Can we assume Kylo Ren is the reason for the " family falls apart " info ?

If your rumor is true, that's fine with me, I just find it hard to believe Disney would foot the bill for Hamill to basically hang out onset for a summer. I also find it hard to believe he would turn down other work just for the sake of misdirection. It flies in the face of everything I've heard, aside from Rey being his apprentice, which is what I've been saying from the beginning.

I mean no disrespect. I enjoy your site and the work you do, I'm just kind of baffled on this one.

 

Again, I'm not quite sure what you're saying. I wasn't so much referring to the content of your continual news as the structure and orgranization in which you present it. It's hard to follow, honestly, and I can't tell whether this is glorified piecemeal speculation or smoking gun material. I'm inclined to believe it's the former, without more evidence. Said speculation has changed drastically over the last few weeks. Hence, the salt comment. Here's to a great movie, whatever is becomes!

A lot of people have speculated this movie is too long for everything to unfold. Perhaps they are saving scenes shot for TFA and using them in Episode VIII? Or maybe they just shot his Episode VIII scenes while the original cast were together so they didn't have to explain why Hamill wasn't around but Fisher and Ford were?

I'd love to hear what @Viral Hide has on this.

 

I think a lot of what's accumulated in terms of rumors over the course of the past year makes the film seemed overly convoluted. I mean, you got leave some stuff on the table for Rian Johnson (and whoever does Episode IX if not Johnson) to get to. Shoving everything in the first movie out the gate or putting all of their best ideas into the first shot isn't something I'm an advocate of.

 

Could you guys give me a quick run through on what this MSW rumor is all about? I missed the conversation, for I was watching videos on the Aquaman pic reveal.

 

I don't buy this for a second. I think there is a big misinformation campaign afoot. Same goes for Luke's magic saber.

 

I need false rumors, I'm a spoiler addict and I'm trying to quit...

 

There were some indications since the open auditions that there could be a position for an outer space Peeta in the film. They made a script based on Katniss and Peeta from Chapter 19 of the Hunger Games novel to test the actors.

 

I do remember hearing from someone a while back who said Luke's part was very limited and that Mark Hamill was a nightmare on set, like he was drunk all the time or something. If my memory is correct this guy also told us about the cross guard saber before the picture leaked and that was about it, he didn't make any outrageous claims or try to become famous like Spoilerman and company. I think is the truth, even though I don't like it.
