Based on everything that has been posted on Making Star Wars in recent weeks, I'm confused whether to believe anything that is said, and I think that whispers of a misinformation campaign by Disney and JJ has some juice to it. A few days ago Making Star Wars posted a clarification of the opening scene of the movie. When I read it, the only thing I could think about was how much it resembled the opening sequence of JJ's second Star Trek movie, Into Darkness. It seemed like a 5 minute thread of scenes with no dialogue to set the story up, just like in Trek.

I seriously doubt that JJ would just rehash the same idea in another franchise that's so large. To me, it seems like something that a misinformation campaign would present: "let's have them all think that the film is going to open just like his Star Trek film did."

Personally, the opening doesn't sound too awful, honestly pretty interesting, but it does bother me that it is so similar to the opening of Into Darkness. The theory that MSW has a source deliberately feeding him misinformation might be gaining traction. Of course, we will never truly find out until the film is released.

Do people really think that Luke is, for whatever reason, insanely powerful, maybe more so than anyone ever?

Really? I know the EU basically created that but the dude was barely trained last we saw him and he doesn't exactly have much going on.

And I'm still waiting for Jason to justify his previous Luke "leaks." What happened to him being evil and/or a cyborg?

Hmm? Which sources are true. Guessing he won't say.

But there has to be, or should be, a reason in the story.

It can't be "hey Rey, want to relive the worst moment in your life for kicks?"

If she knew what happened, she could just tell Finn, etc.

It helps we have a huge fan directing the film.

Quite possibly, but certainly the most powerful living Jedi as of TFA.

Oh yeah? You mean the Luke Skywalker 30 years ago? I doubt he's a "force god" in the present day SWU, but his skills and wisdom in TFA & ST should be vastly superior to that in ROTJ & OT.

Do these questions merit an answer, let alone any serious consideration? Not in my opinion. If anyone took these "rumors" seriously, ...wow, ... just ... wow.

Opening sounds decent to me, but yes I hope we don't get a load of people running around ships looking like Apple employees.

Um or it's important that they were leaked by Jason. So again, what should we believe?

You mean to tell me that ALL his sources were wrong until this one? That begs the question of how reliable his leaks are. What's the percentage?

Btw, I thought I was pretentious, but you sir, you take the cake.

Legit or not, these recent ideas bore me. Evil cyborg Luke was more my taste.

I have to agree with you, this guy is really attention horny and a nonsense artist all at once.
He changes his stories daily now, it's time to move along and forget this scam.
Only J.J. Abrams K.Kennedy, L.Kasdan and Bob Iger at Disney know the full plot, he should give up on his sources they got feed with disinformation.

Yes sadly, I think this board would be better without the bad influence from another site.

Official documents like call sheets trump all other sources / kids making blast up on trashchan / email weirdos / random dude that worked a little on the film. So long as the documents are real. And people realize they are written very broadly and don't cover every aspect of a scene from the descriptions. Also, not having every single call sheet would distort things as well... it's like filling in big or small potholes with speculation...sometimes informed guesswork, but guesswork nonetheless. At least on The Dark Knight Rises I was able to attach set photos and videos to many of the descriptions.

This story about the origin of the Lightsaber sounds boring on paper.

Wrong. They did the movies for as wide audience as possible, INCLUDING THE TEENAGERS. Have you seen in Marvel movies a group of old heroes? No? I wonder why... :)

You...you mean a bunch of guys wearing cool looking helmet? It worked in Rebels. Remember the girl with the Boba Fett-like helmet? The imperials call her "that Mandalorian girl" and I couldn´t find any other possible clue....smart guys are they, those Imperial dudes....? :)

I need to mention that, I've always been intrigued by @Bluestreaking idea about the "third order," and the more I think about, the more that comes out, I think it may be legitimate.

Though I think it may turn out to be a long lost small group of Sith (say 7 of them) that have no allegiance to the Bane line of Sith.

Suppose this is real deal. OK? Now suppose Rey´s age like 17-20. Righ? The flashback wouldn´t be like a month, a year or two to the past, agree? I´d say minimum 5-10 years, maybe more, so it has point to show it to Rey....and when we see Kylo Ren in this flashback - do we see grown up man, or a teenager? Because teenager = Adam Driver/Donham Gleeson. Grown up man.......NOT those two.
