First Avenger has always been a favorite of mine. What Joe Johnston (Star Wars OG) and his team were able to do to turn a campy pro-war America hero into a real tangible hero with a set of actual values and morals other than "US Govt good and them bad" is astounding.
That set the foundation for what I believe to be the best comic book movie trilogy of all time. It embraces the things about the comic we all loved but makes them modern and palatable for everyone.

I need to do that. I have been revisiting a few in random order and am blown away by how well they have held up. I am honestly more hyped for Marvel these days than Star Wars. Infinity War, Spider Man Ps4, Black Panther, and the future return of the Fox properties have me in a full time Marvel rage.

Hey, when do they say that Stark doesn't know Star Wars?

I think it's even implied that he does, because his reaction with Rhodes is pretty much "Really? This kid considers TESB an old movie?"

We know at least that Steve has seen Star Wars, because in Winter Solder he has "Star Wars/Trek" in his notebook and "Star Wars" is checked off. So his priorities are in order.

The MPAA-rating of Avengers: IW has been revealed.

The movie gets a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, language and some crude references.

Chance that Infinity War steals the biggest opening weekend of all time in the US away from Force Awakens. Projected at a very strong $235 million - $255 million. Depending on reviews it is liable to exceed that the way Panther did.

I'm excited about IW, but I can't help but shake the feeling that how Thanos gets the infinity stones feels like something a video game plot would use. You need X out of X to get Y outcome. I'm not saying this as a good thing or a bad thing~just an observation.

Now that I'm prepared for it. What after-after credit scene did I miss with Black Panther?

Nothing major. Shuri, T'Challa's sister, meets with Bucky Barnes.

Rewatched Civil War tonight ahead of the impending IW... I really like the way they threw Panther and Spidey into the mix without worrying about their solo/backstory being out there.

The whole cast really make it work, but I was honestly a little less impressed with the movie on second view compared to when I first saw it.

This aside... next Thursday’s movie is less than a week away!

    Some wild MCU speculations:

1: The upcoming Captain Marvel movie will connect the real world "Phoenix lights" UFO incident to the Kree/Skrull war. Evidence: we know Captain Marvel will be set in the '90's. In Civil War, Tony and Peter use the Phoenix lights as an example of forged footage, which would be deliciously ironic if the UFOs actually WERE real, and the "faked footage" thing was a S.H.I.E.L.D. cover-up.

2: In Age of Ultron, Ultron tells Wanda that she will tear the Avengers apart from the inside. This has been her mission all along. The inciting incident of Civil War, where she accidentally bombs that building, was intentional and part of her plan.

3: Cap's vision of dancing with Peggy, from Age of Ultron, is a vision of his own death. When he dies, he and Peggy will finally have their dance. And I will weep openly in the theater.

4: The post-credit scene of Infinity War will show continuing renovations on Avenger's tower. Construction crews are removing the large "A," and we see it with a leg missing so that it looks like a big "4." And boom. Baxter Building.

Kudos to Feige and Disney for rendering some of my favorite Marvel characters so beautifully on film. I am sorry, but I geek out seeing Spider-Man talk to Doctor Strange, it's like my childhood is being revived, revitalized and repackaged in splendorous, wondrous fashion. Kudos to Sony for making Spider-Man likable again and for his integration into the Marvel Universe as a whole.

I am most looking forward to Spider-Man 2, but also keen to see the next Black Panther and hopefully they get around to producing a Jessica Drew style Spider-Woman. I'd also love to see Black Cat and for the love of all, even a half-decent rendering of Doctor Doom is now long, long overdue.

Of the movies coming out this season, definitely it's Infinity War, but also can't wait to see how Wasp does in her film later this summer.
