More things to cry @: Han & Luke didn't reconcile

I recognized it too, it looked like both are estranged.
Han Solo looked angry/furious when he spoke out Luke's name.
(I know him line) (I suspected the following sentence "and I don't like him" afterwards)

I guess no, Han looked angry and spoke about Luke like a stranger.
He don't said we are friends or were once friends.
There was a sad undertone and bad-tempered vibe going on.
Maybe I misinterpret it, but that is what I thought during the screening.

Your referring to Finn right, off course, anyway if they did reconcile years before TFA then must have been on good terms where they knew they would not be another time.

 

I meant Luke in ANH...meesa thinkin' that if they had never reconciled, they would have hugged and been their normal selves around each other but might have maybe slapped him around and called him a nerd herded but it looked to me as if they both thought that they had time to talk things out after he got back .

 

He's just grumpy like Harrison ford lol .

Only Leia calls him "nerf-herder" hahaha. Luke is too nice to do that.

I also share in this observation and tend to take it further in my mind with respect to how Han Solo is there in space just at the right time to regain the Falcon and Rey.

It was either the sheer will of the Force orchestrating these events and/or Han and Luke had something between a plan and an agreement with regard to Rey and Jakku when the time came.

In another thread (Who opened the door for Rey in Maz's basement?), I wrote:

I see Han Solo's disappearance as paralleling Luke's. Everyone (Han, Leia, Luke) seems to have reverted, going back to what they knew best, but I think Han and Luke not only had time to reconcile but also the reason, the will, and the means to act together after Ben's fall.

Han Solo's final act, crossing that bridge, getting Kylo to remove his mask, touching the face of Ben in such a silently redemptive manner seemingly to "help" his son made for a powerful series of moves that ultimately placed Kylo in such as state as to be beatable emotionally by Rey. Kylo was even distracted enough to be unable to stop Chewbacca's shot (comparing this with Poe's stopped shot at the start of the film).

I would like to think of this partly as Han Solo also helping Luke one last time: it was just like (in A New Hope) Han Solo, after we were lead to believe he reaped his monetary reward and left, soared back from the stars in the Millennium Falcon to fire off a couple of fateful shots from above, which took Vader by complete surprise and gave Luke the extra breathing room he needed to focus fully on completing his mission: "Great shot, kid! That was one in a million!"

Luke, as of The Force Awakens, was perhaps powerful enough to have known this would happen (i.e. Han's fate with Ben), and perhaps even warned Han Solo about the finalities ahead. And I could just see Han smirking back at him. "Luke, you know me: you never tell me the odds."

And then perhaps Han parted from Luke, disappeared from Leia, against his will, so as to protect Luke's mission, and waited nearby under the guise of his old smuggler identity until he received word the Falcon was near and Rey was in it.

The way Han regards Rey is especially interesting, as if he knows but cannot say.

Hopefully there is something to that, and our favorite characters did find a way to work together in ways more substantial than The Force Awaken leads us to believe.
