SPOILER MSW's Rumor and Speculation Thread (Part 2)

Yes, thanks for allowing us to discuss Plagueis's return without being called idiots.

 

I haven't read all the posts since the trailer was released so some of this may have been stated already.

After watching the trailer I feel like MSW spoilers are likely more right than wrong. I think the interview of Isaac, Ridley, and Boyega as corroborate some of it as well

• Isaac in the interview makes a statement that I don't remember exactly but talks about what Poe and Finn meeting. What he implies could match up with them meeting on the Star Destroyer and escaping together
• Finn with the bloody helmet matches exactly. Finn also looks sickened. MSW states Finn throws up. Although we don't see Finn throw up and he may not in the film, his physical state in the trailer appears to go along with MSW description
• The TIE fighter in the hanger matches up well with MSW description of Poe and Finn's escape
• The shot of what appears to be Kylo's shuttle seems to match up with the description MSW gives of what happens when Poe gets captured after the village burns
• The scene of th Village burning speaks for itself
• The downed Star Destroyer, Rey's speeder racing towards it in the trailer. MSW describes Rey scavenging in a downs Star Destroyer. That is likely the one in the Trailer
• Ridley in the interview describes Rey as scavenger and a very isolated and independent person. Sounds very much like MSW description of how she is portrayed in the scavenging and eating alone scenes
• The parade grounds on the snowy planet fits the description that MSW gives of the parade grounds of the"evil castle"
• The shot of the Falcon going into the downed Star Destroyer matches the IMAX sequence MSW describes
• Han stating "Chewie we're home" appears to be talking about the Falcon. It seems Han and Chewie have not seen the Falcon for a while. This fits with MSW description of Rey and Finn stealing the Falcon and then when they get to the freighter and meet Han and Chewie. That trailer scene is likely at that moment on the freighter.

I'm sure there may be other examples but that is what I came up with off the top of my head. it seems like MSW is mostly correct in there spoilers. I suspect that some of the fine details may not be exactly right but I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss his spoiler reports

I just remembered I bet that is Gleeson on stage at the parade ground scene. This is likely right before the arrack on the "evil castle" and what MSW describes as Gleeson's character reporting to uber that he had failed.

 

I'm just a fan, like you.. its my pleasure to be part of all this. Honestly, I was doing what I was doing when Viral asked if I wanted to be part of this, I was doing it because its what I love, and it tickles the hell out of me that its appreciated. Unlike some of the other sites, this one cares about the fans and the members...

Everyone has an opinion... as long as respect is given to everyone else's opinions, we should be free to talk about them. In the end, we all love Star Wars, that's what its about

Wow. Darth Psychotic did it again after all these years. Jason sounds like a lovely individual. He boasts about being recognized at Disneyland?!? Impressive ego.

 

I'm with you on all of this. There's a lot of cattiness in the larger discussion here and people are pretty quick to get their feelings hurt or to place entirely too much importance on either their opinions or their perceived place in some sort of pecking order/food chain of inside information. If MSW (or really anyone) was confident in what they were putting out, it would make better sense to just ignore the naysayers. Its like when I'm on a plane and there's a screaming misbehaved kid behind me, I don't go back and kick the blast out of the kid. I guess it's the nature of the spoiler biz though- not knowing who to trust and if what you're putting out is crap or not, which can be the make or break point in a game where reputation is everything. I read that post on MF linked above and the part I found most distasteful was the MSW forum guy bragging about sending disinformation to other sites (including this one, which led directly to the trailer preview post which was copied on other sites). That's some low down dirty shenanigans, and not the actions of an establishment that has confidence in itself and in what it reports.

On another note, about eight months ago, I sent an email to Jason at MSW. I'm a fan of the Irish film industry and I pointed out some roles that Domhnall Gleeson has played (He's an imprisoned serial killer in Calvary, which was my favorite movie of 2014, and has Game of Thrones actors). Jason emailed me back the next day and was totally polite, thanked me for the information and had a few quick follow up questions. I replied, and again he emailed to thank me for the input. I didn't expect a response back at all, but thought the whole (brief) exchange was completely professional and while I wasn't aware of the message board catfights at the time, I was sort of taken aback when I heard about it. All of this to say, that maybe, with all of the new data out now and more to come- with things to ponder like the First Order and Resistance for awhile, maybe people can take a step back, recognize opinions for what they are, and not equate disagreement with getting slapped in the face on the playground. . .

Btw, called him out on being a megalomaniac Rebelscum a looooong time ago. And apparently I was justified to think that the mods shouldn't protect him because he's obviously pompous, self-promoting ass.

 

I, personally, have never had a bad row with Jason... I am actually on rather good terms with him and Amanda... that is not to say that I have not witnessed some rather out of proportion reactions. Some of it, I think, is carefully crafted, and some I think is just reactionary...

At the end of the day, I don't lose sleep over it one way or the other

 

You know the sad thing is the trailer validated a lot of what Jason reported, but because of the way he went about his business he's less respected than ever.

You can't run a star wars site or participate on forums with thin skin and a fragile ego. He could have taken the high road when he was questioned and criticized He could have defended himself with well reasoned arguments and ignored the flames. He could have been respected if he stuck to his story and let it play out. But he did the opposite. He reduced himself to the very thing he claims every one else is. He took it insanely personal became and an angry star wars nerd accusing everyone else of being an angry star wars nerd.

He took it a step further by spreading hate and vitriol, and getting himself banned from more than one site. All the while claiming he didn't care and was done, but yet continued following the forums by trash tweeting them and complaining about them in his podcasts.

I'm sure he's breaking his arm patting himself on the back right now. Problem is he could post the script and I wouldn't read it right now. I can't support someone who gives star wars fans such a bad name.

 

Yep he was getting a lot of flak for false rumors this trailer proved he was right.

It's actually annoying at this point. I thought he was just a Scum, but after seeing what else he has said...especially about this site, and the way he operates...come on...seriously?

Jason Ward has actively tried to undermine us. And you don't think it's more than a "ho-hum" event?

I'm drunk...so I don't want to step out of line, but I'm really tempted to because I don't know who's side you're really only...which sucks because I like you...even if you are a rather self-promoting Twitter celeb

I am not defending him... not at all. I saw the MF post. There is nothing I need to do, all of that has been said, the evidence is there for all to see. Nothing will be gained by me piling it on...

And I respect that. Perhaps the 9 Old Fashions and pitcher of beer hasn't agreed with me but the fact that he bragged about posing as false leakers to purposely make this site look silly in an attempt to further his own brand (despite what he might claim as a righteous cause) is utterly deplorable to me, not to mention insidious, and, as he mentioned somewhere in there that he has punched people in the face for childish reasons, I would personally break his nose for the low-life person he has proven himself to be.

Again...I apologize...the whiskey is strong with me right now. But how childish can you possibly be?

 

As I said... there is nothing I can do or say... he said it all, and did it to himself. I just need to sit back... an Old Fashioned would be nice, though

 

What bourbon do you like? Because...as odd as it sounds....arty an Old Fashion with Bullet as the bourbon. If not, I'll say Makers, but perhaps J&B whisky.

 

Kudos to you for still being able to type and discuss in an intelligent manner, @Shawshank. I happen to agree with you 100% on MSW, and I'm stone-cold sober (unfortunately). Just know that he'll get what's coming to him...judging by the opinions of him on these forums, it's already starting.
