Agree. She's one of my all-time favorite SW characters. I really wanted them to nail the casting.

 

Yep Vanessa Marshall will be proud to see the twilek she voiced for 4 season of Star Wars Rebels make her live action debut.

And man, between this and Survivor, this really is the year of the Evil Jedi, huh?

Also, I find it odd how many people I've seen refer to this as a spinoff to the Mandalorian, when (while true, technically) it seems far more like a spinoff to Rebels.

This is going to be a truly epic reveal when we see him in his full Glory. Could very well be Lars, he wouldn't be the first to deny their appearance right up until it happens. It just happened on a much smaller scale with Koska Reeves...
My guess is if it is not Lars, then it is an even higher profile actor. Haven't both Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr been rumored?

Ah, on the holopad... That almost looks like animated Ezra. Cool catch, tho. I cannot get enough of this Trailer!

 

Congrats also to Ray Stevenson playing Baylan & David Tennant returning as Huyang to the Star Wars universe.

 

Fantastic trailer - gave good insights and enough questions to boot!

If they are including Heir to the Empire novelisation themes - we're going to have one well thought out series - IMO one of the best EU books to read.

 

I was initially against Ahsoka coming into the Mandalorian show (The Clone Wars film turned me off her big time, and I never saw any of the animated TV shows) but I must say - I really liked her portrayal in Mandalorian Season 2. Wise, confident and interesting.

I agree. Being roughly four months out, we should get a couple more trailers between now and then. Probably kick the marketing into hyperdrive after Visions 2 comes out in May. I have full confidence that Dave is gonna make this series stand out.

Kevin Kiner has KILLED IT on The Bad Batch this season. He showed such versatility with style and emotion from episode to episode. Just like Dave, you know this series is personal to him.

 

I wonder if the average fan will be able to follow if they have not seen Rebels...?

Luke has appeared in all the shows around this time period (Mandalorian and BOBF) so hopefully he gets an appearance here

 

I haven't seen Rebels or The Clone wars...but if you spend enough time around other SW fans, you either hear about the story beats or read about them. I'm just curious as to whether they will write it as an entry point, or will you be required to understand what has happened before...? Maybe best of both worlds. Those that know get an enhanced viewing, and those that don't will get flashbacks/in story explanations.

 

I saw Dave was asked this question point blank today, and his answer was perfect. To paraphrase, he said that in Asokha and really all these Mandoverse shows, they write them to be able to stand alone. If viewers want to learn more, they can go back. But the backstories are not required to enjoy the new stuff.
