It's pretty much like the MCU. As an average fan of that, I couldn't pick out the overarching story/stories of a phase's films and shows, much less the entire thing to date, but I can follow individual entries well enough. Same with SW.

 

I guess that I have got everything from that trailer, plus Mikkelsen is back! Yes!
Just please, make him as good as everyone else visually and not as bad as Grand Inquisitor.
And, are those two Dark Jedi/Accolytes like in Jedi Knight games and Legends stories?

Will we see Chimaera in live action or Katana fleet?
I am only a little bit sad, that they killed off Rukh in Rebels... but this also means that there is a chance of different fate for canon Thrawn
and I am in for the ride.

Lots of Lothal. Sabine on Esra's tower and driving speederbike along the Lothal highway, sliding under some wreck; very cool!

Chopper was there on stage and fled the stage when Elsbeth came on, lol

 

The trailer was good! The beginning buildings and scenes were a little unpolished, but the ships looked fantastic. I part of me has a tinfoil theory that the girl with eh red/orange lightsaber is going to be the new canon incarnation of Mara Jade. It seems like a fun time to introduce her, particularly with Thrawn's return and all. I hope the fight scenes are better than Ahsoka's one-off in Mandalorian. (They were fine, but I want MORE.) And I hope this show makes me excited about revisiting Rebels. My friend who I watch shows with is going through TCW with another one of his friends, and the idea of them going from TCW to TBB (to Jedi: Fallen Order), to Andor (and Jedi Survivor) to Rebels to The Mandalorian (and those two episodes of BOBF) to Ahsoka and all of the movies...it excites vicariously. But we'll see!

 

Maybe this makes me the ultimate shill, but I really don’t care about how shows like this or Obi-Wan look. Visuals aren’t what’s getting me in the door when it comes to these characters who I have a very deep reverence for. What they do is far more important to me than what it looks like when they’re doing it. I would love for every Star Wars show to have the production quality of Andor or the films… but once I see that isn’t going to be the case, I kinda just move on and hope the other aspects of the show are good.

I also don’t get the point of feigning surprise or anger when the precedent has been long set that these don’t look the greatest, especially the Dave and Jon shows. Most people already made up their minds how they feel about it long ago, yet they bring it up with every new show, season, etc.

 

I guess someone could call me a shill also, then. I don't really understand the context, or why, and I'm sure I've been called worse... Anyway...
Audiences have become spoiled and maybe a bit lazy when it comes to visuals and the "look" of content. Gotta factor imagination and suspension of reality in there somewhere, folks. For the record, I think these shows look fantastic. I also think that much of what gets criticized as "looking off" may very well be creative choices. Just because someone doesn't like something, does not mean it was done poorly. That goes for visuals and writing. Every episode of every series is a unique production with different combinations of creators that come up with different looks, tones, and feels to best translate these separate chapters within the big story.

 

Sorry, I was at Celebration and had really, really poor internet connection.

At the Ahsoka panel today, they had Favreau & Filloni + Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan & Shin. The last two are Morgen's helpers/henchmen in some way (I got the feeling they're really Thrawns people, but that doesn't quite make sense... anyway).

After lots of talk and discussion (all great stuff), they said they were going to show the trailer again, only that they had slightly re-edited it to give us something extra. That was a lie, 'cause the trailer was a full second vid; much (all?) of what was in yesterday's teaser was in this one, too, but there were much more stuff. Including, Lars Mikkelsen's Thrawn. Obviously, the hall exploded with enthusiasm, and they brought Lars onto the stage. He was all cool and chill, and he's gonna be such a great live action Thrawn. (Also, he's been lying his butt of recently, claiming he wasn't even asked to return as Thrawn ).

And you are correct; Sabine fighting with Ezra's saber has been leaked before (I know it from MSW, myself), but this was confirmation.

 

I'm not gonna lie. The Ahsoka panel was pretty damn sweet!

(That said, I am struggling a bit with the Celebration experience, and will probably not go again. Apart from the few early teases and such -- and there aren't all that many -- you get a much better and more complete, not to mention comfortable, view of it all on YouTube).

 

I haven't been on YouTube yet, and just assumed they streamed most Celebration stage things with the juicy parts (like trailers and obviously the entire Showcase) removed, 'cause that's what they did last year. Is that not the case? Have they not shown the various panels on yt? Ahsoka, Andor2, Making of Andor, 40th Anniversary of RotJ, Creature Cantina etc. etc., they have not been streamed? ('cause that sux immensly)

 

Call me a stickler, but I really don't like non force users wielding lightsabers...

I think this show has a lot of promise. I don't come to it with any Rebels baggage, as I haven't seen it. As someone above pointed out, I really hope Thrawn looks the part. I think the ball was seriously dropped with the look of the Grand Inquisitor. I have seen You Tube clips of him fixed and it looks 10 times better.

Absolutely!
When the music is also pretty noticeable and remarkable (and even more between cool visual aspect), it means is a cool music.
Loved it. Is not generic just to fulffil the trailer.

These two have something reeeeeeeeeally really special. I have the sensation I will absolutely love these characters.
Their presences, their costumnes, their hairs, their acting faces, their orange sabers!! I just already love them. The casting of these two seems perfect to me. Hope they worth it.

As Stevenson said in the panel, he is someone he "was there". That's the kind of mistery I like.

This period is after ROTJ and before TFA. The First Order has to Rise. Emperor has to clone and evolve, and needs acolytes. The menace is there.
It's interesting how they will give answers for not being in the ST.
Although I can imagine him die and her escaping and hiding to not succumb to a great power and appear in Rey's new movie.

Also is interesting how Filoni will tie all this: Mandalore, First Order, New Republic, new menaces, Emperor clone thing, Thrawn, Ashoka and all we have seen so far in this time events shows.

I just love how they are bringing new stuff into the story along with the continued story. These two are so intriguing! I like the WBW theory, but I think I heard Ray Stevenson mention something along the lines of his character being from "someplace different" like maybe they are from the Unknown Region and the Force users aren't as clearly defined as Jedi/Sith. I know that their origin could not be in better hands than those of Dave Filoni. Not that I have ever doubted him, after seeing him and listening to him this weekend, I am so glad he is so involved with the GFFA.

 

I really like the idea of the bad guys using orange lightsabers. I thought that's what they should have done with the Knight Of Ren... Gives them their own distinctive look to the Sith. Imagine how cool Kylo Ren's lightsaber would have looked if it were orange. The "Firesaber"

I have high hopes for this series, but have been fooled before...
