I absolutely love the slight change at 2mins 22secs when Luke is revealed to still be on Ach-To.

So my boy literally just macguyvered vents onto his old lightsaber because he screwed up the kyber crystal in it too much. That's such a kylo thing to do, man. What a dumbass.

 

I’m a big Reylo person and have been for 2 years now. It was there. There was romantic chemistry. There were beats of a romance. And then Supreme Leader Kylo Ren stomped on it. I hope they keep it going, but I honestly have no idea what will happen in IX.

 

He's a technician after all.

 

One thing that I dont understand is why so many people are complaining (not in this forum) about Kylo's chest and abs exposure in the sequence of the medical.droid working in this face?!?!

We saw Luke with that giant diaper in a bacta tank in TESB and the movie is a masterpiece....I dont recall of anyone complaining about this scene.

First I’ve heard that people are complaining, and it’s a bit of an odd one.

It runs in the family: Luke is shirtless in TESB, as you said, in the bacta tank, and Anakin is shirtless in ROTS when he has nightmares about losing Padmé.

A bit odd how it’s always the darkest film in a trilogy (yes, I’m assuming that TLJ is the darkest the ST gets) that they’re shirtless, mind...

 

Never knew Star Wars was puritan propaganda...

 

I’ve decided to write a character series on Kylo Ren, an overview of his arc and development in TLJ, in three parts, and was wondering if I could link it here when it’s done?

It’s called the past that refused to die, and part 1 is on Rey and Leia and is about 3k words along. Don’t want to put up one of my looong diatribes on here and drown the page. It’s taken from a post I wrote here a few days ago.

The discussion here inspired it. It’s been a great insight into his character, and I may do write ups for other characters/theories if I feel like it.

 

I just realized a tragic thing! We haven’t had a discussion about Kylo’s excercise regime yet. How he got that wonderful eight pack!

So, I wonder if he uses a treadmill at all?

 

Yeah, I've seen a few people go on about this and I don't quite understand it.
I've seen people say "He's meant to be scrawny but he's so broad in this one".
"He has a forties body builder chest".
"He has weird nipples".

I'm just like... what are you even on about??

I too will forever ship Reylo.
In this film though, the Rian giveth and taketh away.
They still have their connection by the end, so I remain hopeful that as Kylo descends further and further into darkness, she will remain his guiding light and hope.

 

He uses space roids.

 

DJ is probably his supplier. I mean, how else does he have first order contact details?

 

Question by the way people, I've seen some say that the only reason Rey and Kylo are connected is because of Snoke, but that wasn't my personal take from the film at all. Admittedly I've only seen it the once, but I distinctly got the the impression that they were being connected by the Force itself (they were clearly connected in The Force Awakens before Snoke even knew about her), and that Snoke was merely meddling with something that was already there.
And even after Snoke is dead, we see at the end of the film that they are still connected.

 

I hope DJ doesn't sell his supply to the Resistance or he's gonna have a bad day.

I think that's part of the whole thing. Snoke assumes the whole time that he's the puppet master when in reality everything he was doing was futile because Rey and Kylo were already doing it themselves. That ultimately leads to his downfall.

 

The Force theme plays when their bare hands touch, not Snoke's theme or Kylo's theme or Rey's theme. Make of that what you will.

 

I think it's left ambiguous if their force bond is still there. Rey's shutting of the Falcons door on him seems both symbolic and literal. That and he picked up the dice Luke left and she appeared, then it disappeared when she left, kinda like it was a conduit.

The resistance will desperately need it to beef up to fight the FO. Harsh training regimes and diets for all!

 

I don't think the dice had anything to do with their bond. It was a symbol of Han.

I think when Rey shut the door of the Falcon, she was saying no to the Dark Side unhinged Ren who brooks no compromises. She got a glimpse of what Luke called "scared boy" Ben and she liked him. If that Ben ever comes back, I think she would give him a chance. But this Ren, no. That door is closed. I think in IX the two of them will be finding a way to let go of themselves and find the galaxy's balance. (Obviously Ren has a loooooong way to go.)

 

She closed the door on Kylo. Ben will need to knock on it and ask nicely for a second chance. If he ever develops in that direction and far enough in IX to get there.

I think time skip for IX. No idea what either of them will be more like after it, except a more unhinged Kylo.
