I would like to see more conflict inside Kylo Ren. Showing that even killing his father wasn't good enough to fully turn to the darkside. That he still feels the pull to the light and that he struggles with this. It could even show in his training.
This may sound farfetched (and i do not even fully agree with myself) is because eventhough Kylo killed Han, Han knew it it would happen. So Han went fully Dumbledore in book/movie 6 getting killed on purpose.

Yeah sounds too crazy....

And nope, not crazy at all to speculate that Han knew he was walking to his death. I think he knew when he was hugging Leia that he could very well be saying his last goodbye to her. Not sure if he went to die purposely but I think Han just wanted to urgently talk to his son and throw out a last ditch request for Ben to return with him, to reach his son. Han knew the base was going to explode and Ben was likely to die in the explosion. I think Han was facing the odds and hoping it would come out positively. Unfortunately, it didn't.

I personally think Ep8 will start off with Kylo training to be stronger and darker but he will still be haunted by Han and what he did. He will be more in control outside, but internally, he will be a mess of guilt, rage, self-hatred, despair. And then something will happen to Leia that will be the last straw and will help Kylo start his true path to redemption. Han's sacrifice was the start of the redemption of Kylo's soul and will ultimately help save the galaxy from Snoke and the FO. At least that is what I'm hoping for.

Well he did say in the undercover Starkiller base clip ''everyone is gonna love the new him'' I know it is crazy since we have seen a son duel his father now a son squares off against his mom.

 

I could see them having a battle of wits but it would be super weird to see Carrie fisher having s LIGHTSABER battle with him ...

 

I don't think she will wield a lightsaber, may just use the force.

My head canon is that Kylo Ren was ordered by Snoke to return to Luke's Jedi School and ordered to kill them all. When Kylo Ren couldn't do it, he was framed by Hux and Snoke (maybe the KOR did the slaughtering). This ensured Kylo couldn't return to his family/the Light if he was advertised in the galaxy as the Jedi Killer.

And another very plausible hypothesis I've seen on another forum was that once Ben Solo's (secret?) connection to Vader was leaked to the Republic (maybe this will be covered in Bloodlines - Leia's fall from grace being thought of as a daughter to a Hero (Anakin) to that of a traitor (daughter of Vader)),
Luke's Padawans turned on Ben one night and Ben had to therefore defend himself against them. With his superior force powers and darkside tendencies, he was able to slaughter them all and then had to run away to Snoke before Luke returned.

Of course these are just speculations but it would really be interesting to see either of these in Episode8 during Ben's backstory. It would help prop up Kylo's Redemption arc.

 

I'd like to see Kylo be even more conflicted in VIII. Perhaps killing his father has only made Kylo feel even more weak and insecure rather than make him feel more confident in the dark side. It's possible that he feels remorse and is afraid Snoke will sense that in him. He's probably more desperate than ever to prove himself to Snoke and demonstrate his commitment to the dark side. Maybe he feels like killing his father wasn't enough to purge the light. The farther he plunges into the darkness, the more he feels the pull of the light.

The inner conflict in Kylo is what makes him an interesting villain so I really hope they don't try to rush his arc and make him completely dark in VIII. They should continue to develop Kylo's struggle to live up to the legacy of his grandfather and his fear that, like Vader, he too will succumb to the light.

It'd also be interesting if Kylo develops an obsession with Rey. Perhaps he's bent on finding Rey and making her his apprentice. Maybe he even begins to develop romantic feelings for her, in a creepy dark side kind of way. I'm really looking forward to seeing how their relationship unfolds.

An accidental clash from Kylo and his mother seeing her lying somewhere seemingly dead.. more guilt..and
obsessed with Rey..

I think Snoke may be disappointed with Kylo after Rey defeated him in the forest, and also more determined to find Rey and make her his new apprentice. This is Kylo's final task: to bring Rey to Snoke. After that, Kylo has no purpose to Snoke and would most likely be killed.

I think Kylo is aware that Snoke plans to swap him out with Rey, so he tries to run away with Rey once he finds her in Episode VIII. Sort of like how Finn ran away with Poe when he realised the First Order would find out he didn't shoot the villagers.

Basically Luke, Vader, Emperor dynamics all over again, except Rey and Kylo are either lovers or cousins.

 

@Darth Spocktor. Would be interesting, for the speculative case, that Kylo really develops special interests in Rey, how he should manage to convince Rey to feel also something other than hate for him.
..killing Snoke, saving Luke, Leia and Rey?
Otherwise I am afraid that he will have to run away for his own, alone.
