Yeah, like FUNN already said- we feared the worst following the chaos of the destruction of Starkiller Base, but Rian Johnson confirmed the return of General Hux.


Hopefully this will put our fears to rest and end the discussion once and for all

He managed to escape literally at the last minute. What bothers me is Snoke’s refusal to communicate with Hux at the battle station. I mean Hux had to leave and run all the way down to the damn chapel style conference room- he was lucky that he didn't get killed by falling rocks!!!


Since the thread has opened i always wanted to make some kind of master post (to be precise: multiple master posts), you know with all the cool stuff. Let's start with some popular Fandom Phenomena.

Inspired by Hux’s “Sexy, but not like he’s trying too hard” style of wearing his coat: Huxing (verb). Meaning: to stylishly drape one’s coat over the shoulders and pose in a formal military parade-esque stance whilst concurrently accessorised with black gloves and black boots.

I did a little research myself and found this interview:

Larry and I would walk all over the place when we were breaking the story, and we would record our conversations,” Abrams says. “We were walking through a cemetery that’s near the Bad Robot offices, and we would often, as we were talking about characters, sort of just be glancing at names to see if any of them stuck. I don’t believe that Hux came from there, but it may have.”

An online search of the cemetery database FindAGrave didn’t turn up anyone named Hux buried in the vicinity of Santa Monica, but the character identifier may also have come from a portion of a name they saw- or it may simply be a new Star Wars legend.

Anyway...

Canon: the weather on Hux's homeworld Arkanis.

Arkanis was a rainy world and downpours happened at least 2-3 days a week, with the standard otherwise being a near-continuous drizzle. The appearance of sunshine was considered a rare event.

Fortunately Hux’s father was one of the Imperials to make the exodus into the Unknown Regions, so they didn't stay on Arkanis that long. But the lack of sunshine continues...

Analysing his body language: walking with the hands behind your back

Yes, not sending out the full reserves of TIE fighters that he had in hand, was a mistake.

Passage from the book (summarized): After the shields went down, Hux orderes a squad to get to the shield control station, who break down the doors to find the controls having been destroyed by blaster fire. He gives orders to use whatever redundancy features they have to bring the shields back up.When he figures out that the X-wings were concentrating fire on one region - SKB weak spot was only vulnerable by multiple explosions on the inside. And the turbolasers in the trench indicated that the FO was aware it was a weak point likely to be attacked- he immediately scrambles all available Tie fighters and orders the launch of heat-seeking missiles to take the X-wings out, at the same time risking a lot of collateral damage to their own fighters.

You see- Hux is stressed to absolute Blast. I am pretty sure we’ll see a much more stressed out Hux in episode VIII.

There is a theory that Hux's mother was Palpatine’s illegitimate daughter. She eventually married Brendol Hux and they were this awesome power couple. I don't know what to think about this whole Emperor Palpatine/ sith thing. For some reason, I just have a feeling that Hux is not FS.

Ha! She was born in 48 BBY so she might be too old to be Hux's Mother.

I was reading the wookieepedia article on the canon Battle of Endor and it says that according to the Return of the Jedi Beware the Power of the Dark Side novelization Mon Mothma wasn't actually at the battle of Endor because at the last minute before her ship would have jumped to Endor she ordered it to jump to some hiding place to await news of the battle's results.

This is what Wookiepedia says:
Before the Alliance Fleet left for Endor, Mothma's ship departed so she could be taken to a safe location...


However I guess it's save to say that their path crossed more than once since Brendol Hux had served in the the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.
