You make a good point; we're still missing the full picture.

I definitely appreciate a more complex set of villains, so if there's more to Hux, I'll enjoy seeing that. And again, I don't mean to disparage Gleeson at all or imply that he should stick with certain roles. I thought the Hux/Ren rivalry was an especially nice touch.

Still. The 'coaster' face...

 

The FO people, Snoke aside obviously, seem pretty youthful in general (not a beard or grey hair to be found among them). And that's the point I think, they're young fanatics who worship the ideals of the Empire a long for the "glory days," but actually have no idea of what the Empire was really about (and most of them are either young enough that they weren't even born yet, or at least were VERY young, so the true oppression of the Empire is something that they never experienced). Also given Snoke's rather cult-like title, it seems like there's some indoctrination going on as well. And Kylo has this same thing as well, his is just much more personal specific (worshiping Vader and wanting to be like him, but having never actually met Vader and seemingly little clue what Vader was actually like/about).

And another thing that make me think that it's intentional is the contrast to the Resistance leaders. They're all seemingly older (Poe, who's younger compared to the rest, is still in his mid-30's). Leia, Adm. Ackbar, and the others were all directly fighting against the Empire back in the day and saw the evil and oppression first-hand (heck Ackbar fought in the Clone Wars as well). It's quite a contras to the FO.

 

Maybe he is doing this to get tips on how to be evil like Magneto, good choice Domhnall.

I'd like to see Hux have a much more prominent role in VIII. I really enjoyed Gleeson's performance and what he did with the character. I hope they continue to develop his rivalry with Kylo, I really liked how they clashed in VII. I think there's some interesting things you could do with that relationship.

Is this right after Kylo alludes to a past "treason?" What "treason" was that?

 

He says that Hux's soldiers are "certainly skilled a committing high treason.' which, given his rivalry with Hux, I took to be just him insulting/condescending Hux over he Finn situations. But it could also imply that other stormtroopers/FO personal have gone rogue before, or at last attempted to.

 

it's during that conversation, but what Ren says to him right before he walks off is "i want that map. for your sake, i suggest you get it." (this in response to Hux trying to intimidate Ren by threatening him as being treasonous for not obeying Snoke).

Ren basically making a counter threat to Hux's if he doesn't do what he says (and he's probably also holding Finn's defection over his head as collateral).

Well you can look up ratings received to see who gave it, anyway I know different personalities, strengths, weakness but for #Huxneto I believe it would work
