Official Rey Episode VIII thread

I think she struggles with her performances. I think that is the idea behind her response to that question. I like that about her. Driven people always find flaws in their performances which drives them to continuously improve.

Is it okay to say she is perfect? Because I want to say she is perfect... just saying

 

You can say whatever you want sweety. Both positive and negative. Im just upset with the trajectory of the film. But Daisy? I love her <3

 

My bet for the next movie is that Rey is gonna build up a new orange double-bladed lightsaber.

oh dear God that video is going to be ripe for paraphrasing quotes. Best to watch the whole thing before jumping into bed.

Loved the dissing of the porgs and she doesn't seem thrilled about the cut scenes either.

 

She's fine with porgs. She didn't diss them. Being fine with something isn't the same as dissing. The only thing she "disses" (air quotes) are people that care for porgs more than the characters. Also, I don't understand where did you get her not liking the Caretaker party cut scene. She just explains it.

 

Hey Magnar will you be typing this up? Or has TLJ broken you? There is too much for me to quote in this interview. Full context for a lot of this maybe needed because it sure fire click baiting for so called news outlets and paraphrasing from tumblrinas. It's sure to make a lot of sniping. But thanks for the video!

 

Personally, I think it would be really cool if she had a Saber-staff like Senya, where the hilt is around a metre long and the blade comes out like a spear.

Oh in other news, two more Forces of Destiny shorts both again voiced by Daisy;

 

One thing I really love about Rey is she never gives up. In the throne room scene she reaches for both sabers even though she knows how powerful Snoke is and how likely it is to fail.



This type of hope is infectious. She sees the best in Ben. When they defeat Snoke and the guards and Kylo doesn't join her it had to be devastating. She could have killed him while he was knocked out, but she has hope.

fan fulfillment, I've given up on that, but we'll see... its just gonna be a regular lightsaber... different color who knows... J.J., K.K., I don't think so... its too much like Maul's saber and maybe they don't want to confuse the general audience... is she a sith? is she related to Maul? What happened to her tattoos?

 

I'm sure Lucasfilm's plan for Rey's saber will be a closely guarded secret over the next two years. She has the original Jedi books maybe she'll create something we haven't seen before. I know, that's asking a lot, but JJ has been pretty creative so far.

Well it's not like he can't walk back any number of plot points from TLJ in the next Episode if he wants to.

Then Rian Johnson arrived and wrote TLJ entirely. I believe there was some sort of general consensus on the main lines of the trilogy, but apart from that, every director writes and realizes his film in his own way. Rian Johnson and J. J. I think it's pretty obvious that Rey's original lineage differed significantly to what RJ served up. He went to great pains to demonstrate that she is a 'nobody' to tie in with his 'everyman' force capability theme.

 

Thankfully, it didn't happen. Hooray! Gosh, I'm so relieved that it didn't happen, you wouldn't believe.
