To me Max Von Sydo looks like a Tarkin. Lots of ways this can go...

 

Indeed. In fact you remind me that von Sydow is still the one of the remaining big mysteries to us. Haven't heard anything credible on him for a while it seems. I wonder if his role is more of a cameo for that reason.

 

He is rumored to be "the Victar" leader of a group on Jakku.

The Chrome Trooper appears to be on the tall figure's left side. (Stage Left) Even the left shoulder is covered.

 

Can someone try and find the highest rez image of this and blow up the stage to see who is on it?

The other thing I've been wonder is Domhall Gleeson is supposedly a high-ranking imperial general (According to Making Star Wars). Now if that is the case, he could actually be our man standing front and center and is likely a non-sith (The figure looks like it is wearing a hat, not a hood although it's hard to tell). To be honest, I'm not even sure if our Uber character is "awoken" yet at the beginning of the movie. Kylo could be looking for him. And even if Kylo is taking his orders, it just as easily be done from the shadows in complete isolation from the First Order.

 

The figure is definitely wearing robes. I highly doubt that it's Gleeson's character. And why would the big baddie, behind everything, not be on the stage? Why woud it be "Uber" that's awoken? And not the force powers in our untrained heroes? Clearly Kylo Ren has been trained... I doubt Uber did it from a crypt.

 

I just want to chime in that, based on the high-resh image of the First Order officer on the podium, it is definitelly not Leia as I earlier mused about. Perhaps the flowing cape (?) made my mind think skirt = Leia or something... Gleeson is more likely now, I think.

I don't think Uber will be revealed like that, I imagine Uber as a shadowy force manipulating Kylo Ren behind the scenes

 

I think it's Gleeson. The center person appears to be wearing a Navy-style hat and a long coat (due to the cold climate) same with those on either side of the stage.
Like this but a coat.

 

I doubt Gleeson will be the leader of the First Order or our big baddie. He may end up being the series' Luke. Or he's the guy that always tries to do the right thing. Even if he's a First Order Officer.

How many officers have you seen wearing long coats in SW? Leaders and politicians wear robes.

 

I agree 100%. But it's just looking that way from Making Star Wars. Most of what they have said so far has come to fruition. Perhaps his backstory would reveal something significant?
