Pablo Hidalgo says that George Lucas's opinion still matters. The reason that Han Solo movie is happening is that it was George Lucas's idea. They have other spin-off movie ideas as well that came from George Lucas. The reason the EU/Legends Universe isn't canon still is because of George Lucas. The reason Plagueis isn't the sequel trilogy's villain is because George Lucas opposed it. The reason Sith can't become Force Ghosts, Hidalgo said, is because George Lucas opposed it.

Why does Leia have offspring in The Force Awakens? Because George Lucas's idea for the sequel trilogy is the inclusion of Vader's granchildren. Kennedy says that it's the Skywalker Saga and that Rey is the new Luke Skywalker type of character and is central to the story.

What we also know is that Lucas didn't like the retro/throwback aesthetic of The Force Awakens. That was his big complaint before seeing the movie.

Tell me what doesn't fit with the movie in this tree thing ? I've stated in the movie not useless quotes.

 

What bothers me is that this "leak" is kinda like the story of the Mortis episodes (The Clone Wars). Same structure and plot.

 

Well, the Mortis thing is part of the canon ? This part will be 5 minutes of the movie, not the 2 hours plot. It just stated Rey as the real chosen one. I made a thread about it a long time ago.

Wow, this is pretty good imo, although its almost certainly fake. It really gived something entirely new to the lore. And I never cared about the ,,Anakin chosen one" thing. Vader was a henchman of Tarkin, just a warrior from an old era, and not a ,,chosen one". The Jedi order misread the prophecy as Yoda said.

 

Well there is some sort of old burned down tree in the set. I'm hoping that it's just a tree. Maybe a big tree where the first Jedi would assemble long ago before they built their first temple. I don't think I can stomach yet another cinematic metaphor for the biblical tree of life/tree of knowledge/ tree of good and evil.

 

I get it but I don't like it.
If Rey is the real chosen one, then that would rewrite the whole Star Wars saga. Rey will be the big player in this trilogy but she don't need to be a chosen one. Let her be her own character!
(Perhaps I should mention that I really dislike the concept of the chosen one.)

 

Where's the point to tell the story of Rey for many trilogies if she's not the chosen one ? Having Skywalker kids ?

Where's the point to pay 4 billions dollars for that ?

I respectfully disagree. I'm rather tired of action scenes and fighting. Imo Star Wars needs mistery. I really liked Rey's vision in TFA. They should biring back the magic, Star Wars is not just pew-pew.

 

George Lucas Himself has said many times that Anakin Skywalker is the chosen one...

 

I'm all for mystery and mysticism, but original magic and not a theme that has been overplayed in cinema.

 

How many times should I repeat George Lucas sold his child ? It's Diney's story now. Feel free to dislike it but the Anakin Sklywalker era is over and the Lucas story is over.

 

First of all, we don't know if they will continue Rey's story after EP9. I really hope they won't make another ST about Rey. To tell you the truth I don't want another ST after all, give me an Old Republic style trilogy.
Second, the point of Rey's story (equally to Luke's story) is the hero's journey. Star Wars was always about the hero's journey and the adventure, it's not about a chosen one (There wasn't even any word of a chosen one in the OT).

But we should stop arguing now because we are getting slightly off-topic here.

 

It's not for you and it's not what you want. It's Disney's business plan.

You don't like it ? You won't go ... Others will attend every next movie, that's it.

Ep VII is not a following, it's a new start. It's Disney's job to tell stories and you will like it and even if you don't every movie will bring them billions.

Why do you want them to stop ? TFA was the 2nd best movie selling of all time ? Noone with a brain would stop to please a nostalgic audience. Some other people will replace you.

If you sell me your car, should I be allowed to change the color and ride as much as I want ? Don't take it personnally, take it as a business. Think like a global multimedia company not like a fan.

What cosplay do you see for kids ? Luke, Han, Leia ? No, you see young Rey, Kylo Ren and Finn.

Literally the exact opposite of what you're saying. EPVII is very much following the old films.



I honestly think you don't seem to understand how films/studios/actors work. We did this before in the "Rey's father" thread.

Daisy Ridley is not going to make 5, 7, 10 SW movies. She's not. We are getting this trilogy, which continues the PT/OT story of the Skywalkers and friends/relatives. That's it.

She's already scheduled to be in Ophelia, a Hamlet film with her and Naomi Watts and another film called Kolma that's in development.

Like Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac (who's already becoming a big star in Xmen, Ex Machina, and other small roles) - they don't want to do SW movies forever. Neither did the OT cast. Or the PT cast.

Hell - Daniel Craig isn't coming back after 4 Bond movies because they took a decade of his life and he wants to move on...and he's the main and central character! He doesn't care, he's done.


You like this new Force Tree theory, because you hate they idea of ReySky. That's fine.

But you can't pretend that anything said by Lucas doesn't matter, Anakin isn't the Chosen One, or that we are getting 2 or 3 trilogies (6-9 movies) of Rey Random: the Force Tree girl, just because that's what you'd like.

 

What if Snoke is the brother, and Rey the reincarnated tree sister?

If they give a name to the tree, I hope they call it Hell's tree, honouring..you..know....(runs)
