Rey's Love Interest?

Forget Rey, I just want to know if Luke has/had a love interest. That man has gone through a lot. Lonely farm boy, almost had something with Leia before he found out that is his sister. Poor Luke!

C'mon now! Everyone just needs to realize that the sequel trilogy ALREADY HAS a very strong romance - Kylo Ren and his grandfather!!!

And let's not forget the sparks that were obviously flying between Chewie and that doctor!!!! Raaawwwrrrr!!!!

If TFA did a prequels style romance between Rey and Kylo, in my mind, it would've went a little something like this ...

 

I'm just so confused I don't know what I want at times. But I do want Reywalker.

I mean how many more creepy relationships is Luke gonna have. Now he's alone. On an island. With a 19 year old.....

She betta be his daughter!

 

Every Skywalker interaction with the opposite sex, let alone romance, has been creepy.

Shmi married her owner (which just reeks of Stockholm syndrome)
Anakin and Payne meet when he's 8 and she's 16 and get together essentially when he's a monk and she's arguably the most powerful woman in the galaxy and lives in a city the size of a planet and is single....
Luke flirts and is kissed by his sister
Teenage Leia falls for a 40 year old former drug smuggler who was working for a gangster/giant testicle (insert CF/HF/Francis Ford Coppola joke here)
She gets hit on by a hayseed & said smuggler right after her father & planet were blown up.
She goes to rescue said boyfriend and gets assaulted and enslaved by aforementioned worm.
Neither her brother or boyfriend ever express sympathy afterwards.
She is captured by a bunch of warrior teddy bears after befriending one and the tribe apparently makes custom clothing for her. That process was definitely uncomfortable. They keep her under house arrest like Snow White.
The product of her romance with a much older criminal becomes an emo murderous goth psychopath who kills his school friends and his father.

say there is a romance, would Rey be a mother in Episode's X, XI & XII if they were to go ahead?

 

May never get that far with her and the romance...not all romance has to have that ending.

 

and/or maybe she'll be a spiritual mother to the new generation of Jedi (or whatever).

 

Not sure how I feel about Rey having a romance/love interest in this new trilogy...I want to say no but if she did have to have one, maybe it could shake things up a bit and make the romance one-sided so that someone is pursuing her and she shows no interest? She's a bit of a tomboy and very independent and self-reliant; not to say those types of woman can't have romantic relationships but I just can't picture her having one. Plus, her Jedi training, seeking her family and possibly redeeming Han's death are at the top of her to-do list at the moment.

 

I hope they keep pushing Kylo further from redemption and give her an awesome love interest with someone and then Kylo knocks him off and keeps offing the ones Rey loves....

I want the aesthetics of the ST to mimic the OT and the stories to mimic the PT.

I want this to be the true fall into irredeemable darkness for Kylo Ren.
In the next trilogy we get full on EVIL Kylo Ren who you can never find redemption for.

 

that doesn't make sense to me for any Star Wars aesthetic. i feel like Kylo Ren has hit bottom, there's nothing worse he can do now that he's killed his father (and our beloved OT hero). if he just gets more evil (and worse: irredeemably evil), who cares? it destroys all the things that are interesting about him, makes our OT heroes failures, and tells a whole generation of disassociated kids that there's no point in ever fighting to be good or do what's right. that's not really what i think Star Wars is about.

this is why i think even if we don't need a romantic love story, Kylo Ren's current infatuation for Rey could be a really interesting complication. because even if it fails because Rey rejects him (as Kylo Ren or even as Ben Solo), he still might learn that the important thing is not so much about being loved, but about loving someone else in the unconditional way his father loved him--a way that sets free rather than tries to possess. it's very basic and very fairy-tale like. and for that reason very Star Wars.
