    Excuse me for having an opinion. Since she has taken over she has been pushing the strong female lead stuff. Jyn Erso. Poe's mom taking center stage in the post-JEDI comic, Vader's sidekick Dr. Aphra getting a solo comic. Every single piece of Disney-era Star Wars media has had a strong female lead and Rey showing that she doesn't need a man would just add to that pile.

    perhaps her rejection of Finn is both empowerment and also set up for a different sort of love dynamic.
    i don't disagree with you that any "romance" with Rey in this story will be unconventional in every sense of the word.
    but Kennedy is a pretty smart cookie and she's not jaded and i don't think she's actually forcing an agenda.
    yes, she wants to empower women and let them shine in Star Wars, but that doesn't mean that women don't fall in love sometimes. that's okay too.
    Kennedy herself is married and has two lovely children.

    And though I'd like a single Rey, becouse I'm one of the few who still loves the idea of single Jedi,
    I must say - using a metaphore a Kennedy may like - probably it's time to have in the Star Wars White House, a woman as President and a First Man by her side.

    p.s. However I don't really care about Rey's love life. All I want to see is a bit of Oscar Isaac naked. Let the other one being whoever: Rey, Finn, Kylo, BB8, Chewie, Admiral Ackbar... I don't care. Just... guess you've got it.
