    Long lasting debate over basic status of Snoke's entity is over.

    He is not Dark side Force incarnation.
    He is not Supreme being.
    However he is not also some Dark side prophet or dark side adept,he is not imposter.

    Snoke is unindentified Master of the Dark side. Extremly powerful.
    He waited in the shadow and emeged from it as the first Order rallied.

    Hm.
    Yes,I guess he is not all powerfull as I thought.

    However he officialy now claims Mastery of Dark Side.

    He awaited in shadow.

    That explains that he as an observer from shadow ,observed Empire,knows things.

    Waited his moment.

    I need a doctor,or fresh dose of Pablo Hidalgo' statements, whichever came first.

    That is one of the first things I came up with after watching TFA. He's been in the shadows the entire time, from the PT to the OT (maybe longer), watching how everyone failed, what caused them to fail, and attempting to not repeat the same mistakes.

    Mastery.

    How one obtains mastery?

    It implies continuity,that he teached(we know that),and that he had a teacher.

    Dark side mastery is equivalent of the level of Sith Lord.

    Snoke was probably in the Unknown Regions during the OT (that's where the remnants of the Empire and Starkiller Base are in TFA).

    "Maryann Brandon (editor of TFA ) mentioned about the other scenes that were never filmed for the Force Back vision. One of them was Rey walking down the Bespin corridor and seeing Vader cutting off Luke’s hand. Then she turns and sees a version of Snoke with a little boy. But these scenes never made much logic and they scrapped them."

    If the Sequel Trilogy is heading into a new direction as far as the Dark Side users - Snoke,Kylo Ren and any other Knights of Ren and if Snoke is from another Galaxy then he does not need to be Sith at all of course.

    The GFFA is only one of many galaxies and the force permeates all living things so in those other galaxies there'd be other life forms and manifestations of the force simply unknown to the Jedi Order and maybe even to the Sith.

    As the narrator in the YT vid in OP's post mentions - Sidious senses something else and feels that this thing is trying to send him messages.

    if that is true,then of course Snoke could be in possession of even greater knowledge of the Force and of the Dark Side.

    All speculation of course but fun to ponder and consider.

    I think this is everything what Snoke's backstory needs. Nothing more. He's a master of the Dark side and waited for his time to shine. That's patience, my friends.

    Indeed,to be able to be so patient as Snoke was,one needs long,long,lololong-life.

    Nice knowledge in this sense would be knowledge to save from dying those he cares about.

    All those OBSERVATORIES bult to observe edges of known galaxy ,for eventual detection of "Master of the dark side waiting in shadows".?

    But,enemy of my enemy...Contingency...Galaxy rejected Palpatine, for a gift in case he dies he prepared return of one even more fearful.
