SPECULATION Star Wars Episode VIII Teaser

Even if it is released with Rogue One, it dosn't take away from the fact that there is 6½ months to go untill Rogue One is released, which is still a long time when we are waiting for it..

 

I'm not disagreeing with you but I am curious why you are so definitive with your responses. Do you have some type of insider info the rest of us don't?

 

The reason why im so sure is that it was made clear that the first teaser for TFA was an exception made for Episode VII and not a part of the original marketing plan. Many other people here have repeatedly used TFA marketing as an excuse to why there will be a teaser in November/December for Episode VIII.

 

Lucasfilm must be sitting at their computers laughing at us and rubbing their hands togheter thinking *we know something you dont know we know something you dont know.*

 

Yeah, the first teaser for TFA was only done so at Abrams request after there was great fan demand for it. Most likely we won't get a teaser for 8 until maybe April, 2017.

 

Dropping teaser trailers one year in advance is not exclusive to what happened with TFA though. I'll never forget the teaser for The Dark Knight Rises that came out a year in advance.

 

You're right about that. The question is though if Disney/LucasFilm acually liked that marketing strategy and want to use it again ??

 

then lets start demanding a trailer for December again. if we dont demand anything they wont react to it. so we need to let them know that we want an episode 8 trailer for December.

 

People dont go to the theaters to watch trailers anymore when they can download them on the internet. Its only people like us (dedicated Star Wars fans) who might do that.

 

They're not going to do it again just becouse it worked one time.

 

If i could ask for something showed in the Teaser i would beg for the Luke and Knights of Ren fight scene (raw footage would do), but i know that's impossible.

 

Thats exactly why they would do it again. They wouldn't do it again if they felt it didn't worked well the first time. So lets just wait and see.

Actually, I would rather that they saved that for the full trailer, and showed something else with Luke in the teaser(s).

 

Comparing the TFA plan to Episode VIII is difficult because the princiable photography schedules are different. TFA ended around November I think? Episode VIII is almost done. Remember, Episode VIII was pushed back. It was supposed to come out in the first half of 2017. A teaser before Rogue One is completely logical and just makes sense from a marketing perspective.

It probably wont do any good, but it never hurt to try.

 

people also thought there would be a rogue one teaser before force awakens.. it doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint because it will distract the audiences from the film they're about to watch. i doubt there will ever be a star wars trailer/teaser attached to a star wars movie..

i agree- these are just impatient, sweaty fans that spend so much time with star wars (myself included). it's just that a lot of these people don't understand the concept of bigger picture and that these films are made for mass audiences, not 1% of hardcore fans.

i am not a patient guy and i cant stand to wait 12 months for the first trailer. the wait is killing me. i seriously feel frustrated.

 

Full Rogue One trailer at SWC, possibly a 15-30 second teaser for VIII there too; and then potentially a longer teaser trailer as a post credit scene for Rogue One? Unlikely, but it would be pretty cool.

 

There will be NO Episode VIII teaser at SWC in any way what so ever. They did it with Rogue One because it was the first anthology movie, that dosnt mean that they will do it with Episode VIII to. Face it, there will be NO Episode VIII trailer till April/May 2017.

 

Considering we got Episode VIII footage before Rogue One I wouldn't count it too far out of the realm of possibility. Rian Johnson seems to be pretty cool with sharing little things now and again, so I could see him dropping a short teaser to say "hey! We finished shooting!" that's not too long but still has something to excite the fans.
