So, this is a cosplay he did before landing the role on The Mandalorian. So cool that his helmet reads, "Appa". If you haven't watched Kim's Convenience, go to Netflix and start it today.

Cara Dune is definitely a character that young girls could have and should have looked up to. Definitely a positive hero character. Which is why it's such a damn shame in the contradictory behavior and subsequent defending of behavior from GC.

Look, Twi'leks have always carried that sensual and sexy kinda thing, since ROTJ, but Jennifer Beals kicked in the Hyperdrive!

I don't understand the fuzz about Cara Dune, really. She was a cool, warrior woman for a couple of seasons, found her place and settled down. For all I'm concerned, we do not need to see her again; her arc is done and complete. Personally, I am MUCH more interested in seeing where Omera the village leader, Frog Lady the hyper-competent super-mamma, or our favorite Jawa-lovin' mechanic, Peli Motto's arcs are heading, than revisiting Cara Dune.

As for the brilliant casting in The Mandalorian (and related series), I would like to add this gem to the love-roster:

Well there are just soooooo many!

Lest we also forget Jon Faverau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Taika Waititi all pulled double duty with their own cameos throughout the series.

We also have John Wayne's grandson and Bruce Lee's goddaughter!

Do you know why I think it was basically essential that SPOILER ALERT!!! :DGrogu dropping out of Jedi academy and returning to Din took place outside of The Mandalorian?

Because Din and Luke Skywalker should not have a relationship any larger than we've already seen. Din was assured that a Jedi was needed and Luke answered Grogu's call. That was enough for Din to trust Skywalker to take Grogu with him. And when Din responded to his heart missing the little guy and went to see him, he had the wisdom to agree with Ahsoka that his presence might jeopardise Grogu's training and denied himself a reunion in that way.

And Luke for his part could perceive that if he cannot fully commit the Grogu must break it off clean with him and return to his clan.

It was a close run thing with Boba being momentarily and conveniently plot punted out the way for Luke to arrive and there not being a scene between them in Chapter 16.

The events of TBOBF were too big to be folded into Mando 3. Although its detractors might argue it wasn't big enough to have been worth bothering with in the first place. Nevertheless, it seems to be a stick on that Fett will be in Mando 3. So dealing with the reunion in TBOBF means they don't have to tiptoe around the awkward Boba/Luke relationship while exploring a seemingly more epic storyline which will draw in all the Mandos into a big power struggle and be far more focused and expansive in that arena than just one man and his frog. Which had already run its course probably before TBOBF 5-7. It's hard to see Grogu scratching the itch to resume his Jedi training (which he clearly benefited from) while all that's going on and have Din pining for him at the same time as uniting a whole culture to reclaim its home world. Plus the aforementioned awkwardness of having Luke and Din, and by extension Boba, albeit indirectly, interacting with each other during this period.

Ahsoka perceived that Grogu was too close to Din from the get-go. It took Luke two years to reach that same conclusion.

For now, Grogu has turned his back on the Jedi and is focused on becoming a Mandalorian with Din as his teacher. In fact, I suspect that when all is said and done, we'll learn the show's title was intended to refer to Grogu, not Din.

For what it's worth, after watching several interviews from the big press junkett, I'm not getting too hung up on this perceived timeline that everyone is flipping over. The Fav man throws "2 years" around in relation to the audience time and real time, not necessarily in story time.

To be fair to Luke, Ahsoka hasn't been tasked with passing on what she has learned and build a new order of Jedi knights. She has no expectations placed on her. She has the luxury to not even be directly involved although she doesn't mind hanging out and passing remarks and notes (and Luke doesn't mind her presence either) which is kind of odd since she's not a Jedi. It was her that said that Grogu needed a teacher. She didn't spot that Grogu was too attached and advise them not to bother at that time.

I still can't really get my head round Ahsoka's involvement here. She had Din take Grogu to the temple where Grogu could communicate with some as yet unknown random jedi. But then she's hanging around like she knew who and where Luke had been the whole time. So why the call to "whomever it concerns"? Why not send them direct to Skywalker or bring Luke to them? (Because it wouldn't have been a big revelation at the end of chpt 16 is the obvious reason, of course)

I don't mind admitting, not that it matters in the greater scheme of things, but I don't like Ahsoka, yet.
