This is the PERFECT description. It's fun. It's pulpy. If I had to do a film school critique, ok sure there's a plethora of issues. I'd rather hit play and just be a kid again. Just enjoy it.

This thread had generated a pretty healthy list -- and we're STILL 18 DAYS away!!!
Looking through @Lazarus Dei's fun thread, here are the Favorites I noted:
    • Mando Arrives, S1E1
    • Space Dad and his Charge
    • Mando revealing his face to Grogu
    • The Razor Crest
    • The Gearshift ball knob
    • Baby Yoda vs. The Mudhorn
    • Mando’s ‘John Wick’ moment in S1E3.
    • Greef Carga’s Character Arc
    • Ludwig Goransson’s Score
    • Pedro Pascal’s Voice Acting
    • Macaron Cookies
    • Migs Mayfield
    • Peli Motto
    • Dr. Mandible
    • Boba Fett
    • The Slave One’s Gyroscopic Cockpit Shown from the Inside
    • Return of the Slave One’s Seismic Charge
    • Boba’s Knee Rockets
    • Christian Alzamann’s depiction of The Child
    • The overall Production Artwork
    • Kruiil
    • Mando’s Planet-Jumping
    • Luke Skywalker’s appearance in S2E8
    • Mando’s Covert Saves the Day S1E3
    • The Series’ Campy Weirdness
    • Grogu’s child-gags
    • Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth
    • Jawas munching on Mudhorn egg yolk
    • The Book of Boba Fett tie-in

While it has been mentioned in passing, I want to give a special shout out to S2E5's THE JEDI featuring Ahsoka Tano. There was tremendous anticipation to the live-action debut of Clone Wars and Rebels' fan favorite, Ahsoka Tano. The hype got so much that there was seemingly no way the episode could live up to its build-up. Which turned out to be true because it did the impossible. It exceeded expectations. As I noted earlier, everything about this episode - the writing, the acting, the directing, the set design, the fight sequences, and the sound design - was absolute perfection.

OK, so y'all might need to indulge me a bit here, but one of my favorite parts of Mando is the snuggling.

Yep, maybe it's the parent in me, but I love all the dad-and-baby marks of affection. Focusing on Din, it's everything from him letting Grogu hold one of his fingers (watch for it--it happens a lot!)...

    to lil pats....

    to full-on snuggles galore...

That kid is hard to resist. Guess we all have to try again in season 3. :D

Ok, I’m going with another ‘I can’t believe this hasn’t come up already’ suggestion which - if you’ll indulge me - is kind of a double header…

    The Armorer

    upload_2023-2-18_23-17-5.jpeg

Introduced early in the show, her presence has been instrumental in driving Din’s progress despite relatively minimal screen time.

    upload_2023-2-18_23-16-34.jpeg

She’s broadened our understanding of Mandalorian culture through the Covert, fashioned Beskar armour which has saved our hero on more than one occasion, provided guidance and arguably pushed Mando into his quest to return Grogu to his own kind… but she’s also challenged, judged and dismissed Din - and in doing so has made her self both friend and antagonist… and the latter isn’t to be taken lightly given that she’s more than proved that she is not to be messed with!

    upload_2023-2-18_23-15-1.gif

But all this almost pales compared to her greatest contribution to the show and SW lore… for she also gave us the endlessly quotable…

    upload_2023-2-18_23-13-42.gif

For my money, she is really going to be one to watch in S3 as there’s clearly no love lost between her and Bo-Katan

I really hope we get her story. How did she get to her status? Learn her craft? Her knowledge? Her style? I agree that she is definitely one to watch, and I think that she could be the antagonist in S3, going up against Bo-Katan and Din for control of Mandalore.

Her scene when she wrecks those Stormtroopers... Absolutely one of my favorite scenes of the series. I hope we get to see her in more action and fight scenes.

When I saw that scene play out for the very first time, I was thinking, "Oooooh Noooo...I liked her" followed by "HOLY SH**" :)

    T-MINUS 10 DAYS AND COUNTING...

I'm gonna jump in here before another of my ideas gets poached and done by someone else, in a much better way, I must say!

The single most important gift that we. as the Fans, have been given through Disney+ and The Mandalorian is the man himself, Creator, Writer, Director, Producer Extraordinaire, Jon Favreau.
    4PGFZ7OX_400x400.jpg

Not only did he bring us an incredible and groundbreaking TV show, made with loving care and superfan attention to detail, but his partnership with the amazing Dave Filoni has expanded that TV show into an expansive Universe within the Galaxy Far Far Away, that is giving us brilliant, new characters, places and events, while simultaneously acting as connective tissue pulling all the far reaches into one big Universe. He has brought in and developed so much talent within the Mandoverse, just too many to list. Writers, directors, actors, across the board, you can see how much goodwill and loyalty he has created in the Industry simply by how many heavy-hitters have come running to work with him. Who would have ever thought that the scrappy, awkward, swing dancing wannabe actor, Mikey, would one day be the Future of Star Wars?

I don't trust her. Never have. I don't think Din and Grogu are necessarily safe from her either.

I'm really hoping and thinking that we will get the answer to that in S3. I'm wondering how much of the backstory are we gonna get through flashbacks and how much simply through a narrative. I'm assuming from what we've heard that Gideon is actually going to be in action, probably on Mandalore, but what if we only get him in flashbacks...

Anyway, that scene was so great, because I remember thinking how cheesy the ending was with Mando, Greef and Cara talking about how all of a sudden the town was all cleaned up, blah, blah, blah... It's kinda goofy. Then Moff Gideon survived and he has the friggin' Darksaber!? Stuff got real again, real quick. Such a good Bad Guy.

Yeah, it's kinda funny because they have really set her up as possibly an enemy or at least an opposition to Din since the very beginning, yet she's such a badass, it's hard not to like her. I'm very curious to see how and why she gets caught up with two people that she has called an "apostate" and a "cautionary tale"

    Chapter 7: The Reckoning
(My personal favorite of Kuiil's speeches)
Kuiil : Do you trust me?
The Mandalorian : From what I can tell, yes.
Kuiil : Then you will trust my work. IG-11 will join me. And we do it not for payment, but to protect the child from Imperial slavery. None will be free until the old ways are gone forever.
    The Mandalorian : Okay.
Kuiil : And the blurrgs will join me, as well.
    The Mandalorian : The blurrgs?
    Kuiil : I have spoken.

I just watched that episode last night, and it's easy to forget just how much important story development occurs, mainly because the visuals are so stunning! But we learn SO, SO MUCH! We learn his name, some of his backstory, the Tython events are setup, we get the Thrawn namedrop!

Another thing that stands out from this episode as I watched it with an eye on S3... Surely Asokha killed Morgan Elsbeth, right? We don't know for sure. We know a version of Asokha that would have ended an evil foe without a thought, but we also know a version that would have spared her. We don't really know where she stands now. Also, the use of the word "Master" to refer to Thrawn... It just seems odd. Commander, Boss, even Mentor would have not been unusual at all, but Master? That invokes some sort of Master/Apprentice type relationship, or was it more Master/Servant? Just strikes me as odd.

Oh, and the opening scene of this episode... With the trees and the fog and the lightsabers... Hands down, one of the prettiest, most cinematic scenes in the entire series, maybe all of Star Wars.

When we first heard that they were making a series about Mandalorians, this is what I was waiting for. It's probably the most anticipated thing about S3 for me. Gimme more Mando action! Jetpacks, blasters, knee rockets, whistling birds, that ping! of Beskar deflecting a shot... Pour me another double, sir!

Every adult that ever owned a Kenner Boba Fett action figure (as a kid in the 80's) peed a little when that happened.

I vividly remember running to the mailbox waiting for Boba to arrive. We were bummed out at the realization that his backpack rocket didn't launch as we had thought, so we carved down several crayons to similar size and shape and we would throw those as launched rockets.

I remember those janky light saber tips (hidden within the arm) would bend & break so easily!!

We took model car paint to round wooden toothpicks and replaced them.
